Background Abdominal breathing exercise is one among these. It reduces blood pressure by increasing baroreflex sensitivity and reducing sympathetic activity and chemo reflex activation. In India, it is reported that there are around 42 people are with pre hypertension, 15 are newly diagnose to have Hypertension and 31 are with known case of hypertension, and it kills nearly 8 million people every year worldwide. The noncompliance with treatment, stress and life style are found to be major reason for this doubling of disease within a decade, there “arises need for new therapies ‘and’ remedies. Objectives The study aimed to assess the effectiveness of abdominal breathing exercise in reducing mean blood pressure among hypertensive patients. Methods Pre experimental one group pre test – post test design was adopted for the study. 60 hypertensive patients from male and female medical general ward had been selected by convenient sampling. Tool comprised of Demographic proforma contained 9 items and sphygmomanometer, stethoscope and blood pressure monitoring table contained 3 items to record the readings. The reliability of the tool was tested by inter rater method and it was found to be r = 0.99. Abdominal breathing exercise was administered to the samples after pre assessment of mean blood pressure for ten minutes and post assessment of mean blood pressure is done at the gap of 5 minutes which is repeated 3 times a day and monitored for minimum of 3 days. ‘t’ test was used for finding the effectiveness, and Chi square test was used for finding out the association between mean blood pressure and selected demographic variables. Results It revealed that the mean differences in pre and post assessment was5.61 and ‘t’ value was 19.39 which is more than the ‘t’ table value. The overall findings of the study revealed that the Conclusion the study concluded that abdominal breathing exercise is found to be very effective in reducing the mean blood pressure. 3) Several studies have found that the lack of nutrients like leptin due to severe malnutrition increases the risk of death from pneumonia through respiratory failure and shock.

The study involved 80 dysmenorrheic young women divided into experimental and control groups. The experimental group performed yoga exercises for 8 weeks while the control did not. Results showed a reduction in pain intensity and medicine use in the experimental group, though changes in weight, BMI and waist circumference were minor. Limitations included a short study duration and small sample size. Recommendations included a longer study period and larger sample size.

The advance asanas that are taught during various asana classes throughout the duration of the teacher training are brought up for analytical discussions and practical sessions of methods to adjust advance postures with both verbal cues and hands-on adjustments. Learning revolves around demonstrations, observation and practicums by assisting the lead instructors during some advanced yoga classes. Students will demonstrate observe and assist lead instructors in adjusting in a basic yoga class.

Background and Objectives:
George’s Place is an invite only hub for stroke survivors facilitated by Body Activation Ltd. It is currently being piloted with the team and patients at NGH. The community provided has been co-constructed with patients to provide a timetable of live and asynchronous activities. It has a clear theoretical and philosophical approach to empowering stroke survivors, and it enables a safe space to share ideas, take part in yoga, art work, exercise, and conversations with clinicians, other survivors and – for the first time – trainee Allied Health Professionals.
Clinical placements for training health professionals traditionally involve face-to-face observation and involvement in therapy provided in various clinical settings. Involving students in the network has revealed the opportunity and need to develop new digital clinical skills.
Progress
In January 2024 at the University we hosted a new cohort of five students who took part in a placement that included time learning how to navigate the network. Students arranged interviews with participants as a way of building their clinical skills, and to gain exposure to people who could share the challenges of living with the consequences of stroke.
Results
Students enjoyed meeting stroke survivors who are keen to help the next generation of therapists develop their skills. They developed awareness of the need to co-construct resources. Students have considered the different needs of participants including those who choose to “just lurk”, the need for technical support for those having difficulty accessing the technology, and the potential benefits of membership of the network.
Conclusion
Clinical training needs to include opportunities to work with patients in social media spaces in addition to traditional training in face-to-face encounters. Online platforms that support life after acquired brain injury provide exciting possibilities to reduce isolation, improve accessibility of resources, and they provide important developmental opportunities for students and stroke survivors alike. The training needs for clinicians to be equipped to work in this social media era deserve elucidation.
