In the past, many definitions were been given to yoga by various authors. But simplest definition of Yoga is the oldest known ‘science of self development’. Yoga is the greatest gift given to us by our ancestors. It is cost effective medicine, which has no side effects. Yoga is a discipline which has a direct impact on physical and mental health of a person. It is also used for therapeutic purposes also. There are many number of school of yoga is available. Now yoga is practiced throughout the world.4/10/2017
- 8. 8National College Problem and objectives The aim of the paper is to throw light on diabetes management through selected yogic exercises among type 2 diabetic patients. The objective of the study was to suggest the specific yogic exercises for type 2 diabetic patients. 4/10/2017
- 9. 9National College Methodology The literature analysis from various resources was used to collect necessary information. The literature sources such as books, journals, periodicals and e-resources such as Scopus, Web of science, Shodhganga are available in central library, Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu State, India were used to collect relevant data. The investigator after analyzing various yoga studies related to type 2 diabetes complied the list of yogic practices which are commonly documented in many studies. 4/10/2017

- 14. National College 14 Conclusions Diabetes is one of the major health and development challenges of the 21st century. No country and no sector of any society is immune. The challenge is to reduce the human and financial costs through early diagnosis and effective management and to prevent new cases of diabetes. The specific yogic practice suggest in this paper may serve as a model for physician / Yoga experts / Physical Educators in designing yoga schedule for diabetic patients. 4/10/2017
