Iamge Description

Dr. Carolyn received her Bachelor of Dental Science degree at the University of Melbourne with Deans Honours and the Ernest Joske Prize for Best All-Round Graduate. She practiced for five years in general dentistry in both government and private dental practices across Victoria.

Throughout her training and practicing career as a dentist, Dr. Carolyn has always been passionate about preventive dentistry, occlusion (the way teeth fit together) and overall aesthetics. When these facets of dentistry are combined, as in orthodontic care, an individual's confidence and self-esteem is enhanced and their lifestyle is transformed.

Inspired by this potential, Dr. Carolyn was successfully admitted to undertake additional training and research to obtain the Doctorate of Clinical Dentistry degree in specialist orthodontics at the University of Sydney. During this time, she received the DENTSPLY DClinDent Research Prize awarded by the University of Sydney, as well as the John Reading Prize for best treated case at the Australian Society of Orthodontics (NSW) clinical day.

Dr. Carolyn successfully earned her membership to the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons and the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh in the specialist orthodontic stream. She is a certified Australasian Orthodontic Board member as well as a member of the Australian Society of Orthodontists, European Orthodontic Society, American Association of Orthodontists and the World Federation of Orthodontists.

Dr. Carolyn's special interests include dentofacial orthopaedics, interdisciplinary and coordinated patient care and the implementation of the latest advances and technology for optimal dental and facial aesthetics.

Outside of work, she treasures family time, appreciates the culinary arts, Modern Jive and the latest blockbuster films and volunteers as a mentor to oral health practitioners, as an advocate for both dental professionals and the oral and general health of all Victorians and as a convenor for excellence, education and peer-review within the orthodontic speciality. She actively serves as:

  • Executive Director: Australian Dental Association Victoria Branch
  • Director: Australian Society of Orthodontists Victoria Branch
  • Chair and Victorian Convenor: Australasian Orthodontic Board
  • Chair: Australian Dental Association Victoria Branch Inner East Regional Group Committee
  • Mentoring Committee Member: Palladians Association
