- 7. INTRODUCTION Deep Work is a term coined by author and professor Cal Newport, which refers to the ability to focus without distraction on a cognitively demanding task. It's the kind of work that requires sustained attention, creativity, and critical thinking According to Cal Newport, in the new economy, large companies can quickly conquer global markets using digital tools and technology, and by producing new products and services, they can experience greater growth and development. Therefore, to survive in this economy, companies must always be innovating and improving their processes. 7
