About Rautu Ka Raaz

Nawazuddin Siddiqui is one of the finest actors in our industry. He has given some amazing performances over the years, and fans wait for his new projects. The actor can be now seen on the OTT release Rautu Ka Raaz, where Nawaz plays the role of Inspector Deepak Negi, who is all set to investigate a murder mystery.

Rautu Ka Raaz Movie Review: Plot

The warden at a school for the blind is killed in Rautu Ki Beli, Uttarakhand. Her body was found on the bed, and the local police force was unusually excited. The death was first thought, of as a natural cause incident, but it gets clearer with time that it was a murder and Inspector Negi is there to solve the mystery behind it. The investigation opens up the wounds that were kept covered for a long time.
Actor Rajesh Kumar plays the role of sub-inspector on the case. There is evidence to be bagged, witnesses to question and a soft board with photographs connected by string to be mounted.

Rautu Ka Raaz Movie Review: Direction

Anand Surapur's Rautu Ka Raaz showcases the hidden complexities in a setting that seems way too basic. The film sure shows the extent of corruption but the spark one looks for in a mystery was missing.
The only good part about Rautu Ka Raaz is the correlation of the case with Inspector Negi's personal life, and how the investigation result helps him find his long-lost peace. The letter written to the murderer by Deepak Negi towards the end of the film is truly an eye-opener.
On the other hand, the film feels extremely basic and generic with few characters who deliberately or intentionally try to look suspicious. And the most disappointing part is the editing, as there are scenes in between with no context to what was happening five seconds ago.
The alacrity with which Deepak slips into Sherlock Holmes mode is puzzling, given the lack of blood-letting in this supposedly peaceful corner of Uttarakhand.

Rautu Ka Raaz Movie Review: Final Verdict

Rautu Ka Raaz is a murder mystery with a good cast yet a basic story. Fans are more into the exciting stuff today and not for the mundane reasons they can guess in the first 15 minutes. Editing is a very important part and the film lacked a lot there which always is a red flag. The film could have done better with the editing and the twists as it does not keep you hooked.
