On Thursday, July 4, Malayalam actor Shane Nigam took to his social media to announce that his 25th film would be an "intense action thriller" produced by Santhosh T Kuruvilla and Binu Alexander George under the banner of STK Frames.

The announcement was made by the actor and the makers of the film by releasing an announcement poster and the caption, "'THE HEROIC BLOODSHED BEGINS.' Proudly Announcing Shane Nigam's 25th film under the banner of STK Frames. Produced by Santhosh T. Kuruvilla and Binu Alexander George. Written and Directed by Unni Sivalingam. Gear up for an Intense Action Thriller Kabadik...Kabadik...Kabadi....! (sic)"

The yet-to-be-titled film is being written and directed by debutant Unni Sivalingam, who had previously worked as an assistant director in Saheed Arafath's Thankam (2023), starring Vineeth Sreenivasan and Biju Menon.

According to the makers of the upcoming film, it will be an action-packed mass entertainer centered around four kabaddi players, and will be a Malayalam-Tamil bilingual with actors from both languages. According to sources, the film will be shot majorly in locations around Palakkad and Coimbatore, and is expected to go on the floors soon. More details regarding the rest of the cast and the technical crew are awaited.

Shane Nigam was last seen in Aby Treesa Paul and Anto Jose Pereira's Little Hearts. He had also recently wrapped up the shoot of his Tamil debut film titled Madraskaaran. The makers of the Tamil film, directed by Rangoli-fame Vaali Mohan Das, also released a BTS video featuring Shane performing some intense and emotional scenes for his Tamil debut. Also in his roster is the Malayalam romance film Haal, directed by Prasanth Vijayakumar coming up. The teaser of the film was released online recently.

Meanwhile, producer Santhosh T Kuruvilla, who is known for backing films like Maheshinte Prathikaaram (2016) and Nna Thaan Case Kodu (2022), is taking on this project as his 14th production endeavour. He will also be producing actor Rajesh Madhavan’s directorial debut titled Pennum Porattum.
