The Men in Blue dropped the chokers tag and won the T20 World Cup 2024, defeating South Africa in the final. The team got a massive round of applause as thousands of fans gathered at Marine Drive in Mumbai to to celebrate the win with the World Champions. It was no less than a festive night in the country where the players and fans rejoiced the tremendous achievement. Watching Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli dance and sing 'Maa Tujhe Salaam' was a treat to the eyes.

After the event, the players left for their respective states where they again received a grand welcome. Mohammed Siraj got a hero reception as he reached Hyderabad. Siraj played for India in the group stage but was left out of the XI for Kuldeep Yadav in Super 8s and knockouts.

Meanwhile, Mohammed Siraj's act after reaching his hometown won the hearts of fans. Notably, the Indian pacer handed over his World Cup medal to his mother. Siraj shared a story on Instagram with a pic of her mother wearing the World Cup medal, with the caption 'Boss'. Siraj got massive praise on social media for his respect towards her mother.

Siraj's rise to one of the best Indian pacers has been remarkable. A lot of credit for his growth goes to Virat Kohli who backed the pacer in RCB as well as in Team India despite ordinary returns. The turning point in his career came during the Australia tour in 2020 when Siraj led an inexperienced Indian pace attack, playing a significant role in India's Test series win. Siraj lost his father during the series but the pacer decided to stay back and represent the country.
