Bts' Jin is all set to head to Paris! Is it for a variety show or special performance? Well, no. The Moon singer is heading to the scenic city to represent South Korea as a torchbearer at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Yes, you read that right! Jin has been selected as a torchbearer for the upcoming sporting event.

Jin, who was recently discharged after completing his military service, has been chosen as the torchbearer to mark the beginning of the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics. The Awake singer was chosen by the Olympic sponsors and organizers for making a significant contribution to the community through his musical work as a member of BTS. Jin will reportedly be departing for France soon.

As soon as the news surfaced online, HYBE responded, saying, "Any announcement related to the Olympics will have to be made after consultation with the International Olympic Committee. We will soon clarify our position on the torch relay." A day later, BIGHIT MUSIC confirmed, "Jin will be a torchbearer for the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics to be held on July 27."

On the work front

Prior to his enlistment, Jin had made his solo debut with The Astronaut. The single, which was released in October 2022, centered around Jin's love and connection with his fans. As per reports, the BTS star will be releasing his debut solo album in the fourth quarter of this year i.e. between October to December 2024.

Additionally, just a day ago, it was reported that Jin is set to make an appearance as a guest worker on MBC's outdoor adventure variety show Half-Star Hotel in Lost Island (It's a Good Thing to Rest Well). The BTS star's episode, that was reportedly filmed on an uninhabited island late last month, is scheduled to air in the near future.
