- 1. Life on Earth (By Alonso Ricardo and Jack W. Szostak) Summary (By Zohaib Hussain) Studying how life originated is always a quest and thrust area for every researcher. To find out how the first life originated and under which conditions is still hard to determine by the science. The possible ways of life origination is explain by researcher to help us to understand it. Cells acts as a machine performing an array of works that includes movement, copying cutting and duplication of genetic information, metabolism of energy synthesis, development of membrane and signaling in the form of chemical, electrical and mechanical signals. Some scientists postulate or hypothesized that life started from proteins which are catalyst for biochemical reactions and in many other forms performing other important cell functions. Continuous research however reveals that protein synthesis process is complex starting from unstretching of DNA strands and formation of copy of DNA information in the form of RNA, which is then translated into proteins. In whole process of protein synthesis a lots of molecular players are involved. Later on it is hypothesized that first organisms or life do not need proteins for its survival opens a new Pandora box. Keeping in view the requirement of 1st life material that it can be evolve and reproduce is fulfilled by RNA which is similar to DNA. These molecules have been thought to be first molecule from which life originated as they have ability to arrange themselves in different forms and may copy its information to reproduce and evolve giving rise to life. Some scientists proposed that early life forms are membranes which are composed of fatty acids that enclosed food, water and genetic information. The genetic information controls the attributes of organism which is transferable from parents to offspring’s. However due to number of changes in copying, transferring and expression of information, organisms are propelled towards evolution so that they get adapted to changing environmental conditions and to rival each other which finally turns them into the present day complex organisms. This scientific communication highlights the way of life origination knowing all these information will help us to understand how life get started and will ultimately enlighten scientists that what life is, how it get started and is it exists on other planets too.
