Humour is a clever way of looking at the world. Properly done, it should make you smile because it is:
- Very close to the truth, but in a way you never thought before, or
- Very silly, but also in a way you never thought before
It is not to be confused with American humor, which usually has men dressed up as ladies, or being hit in the genitals with various objects.
