Norfolk is a language spoken on Norfolk Island, in the Pacific Ocean. The closely related language of Pitcairnese is spoken on Pitcairn Island, also in the Pacific. It is originally a mixture of English and Tahitian, developed on the two islands by the descendents of the crew of the Mutiny on the Bounty and their Tahitian wives. There are expatriate communities throughout the world, mainly in Australia and New Zealand, who also speak the language. Norfolk is the official language of Norfolk Island.
