- Reason: I no longer wish to contribute to Wikipedia. I would prefer a complete removal of my account, but this seems not to be an option. Instead, there appears to be a "Courtesy Vanishing" route, which involves changing my username to some random string of letters preceded (inexplicably in my opinion) by my current username.
See -> https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:FAQ#How_do_I_change_my_username.2Fdelete_my_account.3F
See -> https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Courtesy_vanishing
In the absence of any other option, I wish to exercise that right. I did so by following the instructions suggested on the two pages above, by using the request form here -> https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:GlobalRenameRequest
Though like I say, a complete removal would be my first choice. MrZoolook (talk) 15:05, 17 March 2017 (UTC)

- @K6ka and MarcoAurelio: sorry, but I forgot to suppress create of redirect, can you solve the problem that I made,please?--Alaa :)..! 06:46, 1 March 2017 (UTC)
- Why should the redirects be suppressed? Stryn (talk) 15:39, 1 March 2017 (UTC)
- @Stryn: When performing an usurpation, I must "Suppress creation of redirects"; otherwise it could cause problems with the userspace of the second account (The account that made the request) when it is renamed over.--Alaa :)..! 15:48, 1 March 2017 (UTC)
- Indeed, when usurping, the move should be performed while suppressing the creation of redirects. To fix the mess you created, we'd preferably need an en.wiki admin, since it involves deleting all pages redirecting to one of the "Gacelperfinian (usurp)" account so the pages that have been left at Gacelp can be moved back. Should this happen again, do not rename the user before you have the remaining redirects deleded, as that reduces the impact.
- The 46 pages listed in the expandible below need to be deleted and replaced by the same page that remained under the Gacelp username. Savhñ 16:51, 1 March 2017 (UTC)

- Stewards/Global renamers: usurp user, rename user
- Reason: Years ago i forgot my password for this account then i created a new account and named it "Hedda Gabler". "Cemallamec" was merged with Hedda Gabler. In 2015, it was renamed Hedda Gabler~trwiki by Maintenance script for SUL finalization. You can see "Hedda Gabler" is my account in all wikipedias. en:User:Hedda Gabler and User:Cemallamec. Now i can not login for Hedda Gabler but i can login with Cemallamec (my oldest password came back). I want you merge these three accounts in one. But after that can i login with Hedda Gabler?
- We are currently not able to merge global accounts, nor do we expect to be any time soon. There don't seem to be local accounts that could be moved from one global account to the other, and based on the lost access, it is likely something could go wrong when attempting to unify the global account. There is nothing we could do. Savhñ 22:16, 7 March 2017 (UTC)

- Reason: Hopefully this is the right place to make this request. I started working on Wikipedia since 2002-2003 under the username Tarong. I also initiated the Ilocano Wikipedia back in 2005-2006 and has been its site administrator as Tarong since then. Unfortunately, I lost my password recently and cannot remember what it is and have tried for months to log in. I also realized I may have had a non-working e-mail attached to it and could not recover; it has been years since I looked at my preferences. So I created this new username Omandra. 1) is there a way of recovering the password for Tarong? 2) if not, is there a way of globally merging my edit history under Tarong with this new username, as had been done before with Tarong (my initial username in 2002 was different and asked for a change) and 3) and most importantly, I would like to gain my administrator rights back for Ilocano Wikipedia. I would hate to lose almost 15 years of history. My preferences for Omandra now has a new working e-mail - that can also be applied to Tarong if that can be done. Your help is very much appreciated. Thank you. --Omandra (talk) 18:54, 17 March 2017 (UTC)
- @Omandra: Unfortunately there's nothing we can do here. To address your questions:
- We can't recover passwords for other users.
- It is not possible to merge accounts and their edit histories.
- I don't know the processes for selecting adminship on the Ilocano Wikipedia; however, we can't simply grant you administrator rights there. You'll have to go through the community processes for getting adminship there again, since we have no way of verifying that you are the same person as "Tarong" (This is a security issue; imagine all the havoc we would cause if we took the bad guy's word for it and gave them adminship!)
- —k6ka 🍁 (Talk · Contributions) 20:16, 17 March 2017 (UTC)
- Yes, I thought about that and the security issues attached to it. That's too bad. It is what it is. Thanks for the input, though. I will connect with the other admin there. In terms of security though, I want to make sure our site is secure. Can a Steward block the admin rights for my old username, Tarong, and just keep the username there for our site's history and its long edit history (in case I recover/remember my password)? I will just point to it with my new username account. The other admin at the Ilocano Wikipedia is Lam-ang and this is talk page for this, mostly in English --Omandra (talk) 21:19, 17 March 2017 (UTC)
- Please file requests for adminship, after (re)gaining local approval, on SRP. Unless you can prove ownership of both accounts, which at this point seems rather complicated, we cannot take actions based on what you say. Savhñ 18:39, 20 March 2017 (UTC)

- Reason: I wanted to register with the "Bankster" username at first on the Spanish Wikipedia, but found out that there was already an account with that name. My account is globally connected since the update from 2015. However, I did a little research and found out that the account with that username is only registered in the French Wikipedia, has only made 8 and it's not active since December 8, 2008. However now that I'm back, I'd like to change my username to the original name I chose since the other user who took over my name (Masclet) does no longer (or hardly) contributes to Wikipedia. Thank you. Masclet~enwiki (talk) 00:26, 25 March 2017 (UTC)
- Masclet~enwiki, your username was changed due to SUL finalisation. The username you seem to want to usurp does not appear eligible for usurpation as they've made a sizable number of significant edits that can't simply be ignored. Mere inactivity is not enough to make an account eligible for usurpation. —k6ka 🍁 (Talk · Contributions) 02:03, 25 March 2017 (UTC)
- What's a sizable number of edits for you? Target user has 0 undeleted edits and 0 deleted edits. An SUL account (primary eswiki) exists for the target user, with 22 total edits on 3 wikis. Requesting user (me) has 80 edits. An SUL account (primary enwiki) exists for the requesting user, with 80 total edits on 9 wikis. PS. I've sent this user 3 messages in different languages, let's see if he/she contests my usurpation request. Masclet~enwiki (talk) 02:12, 25 March 2017 (UTC)
- By the way, I've never agreed with SUL finalisation. Masclet~enwiki (talk) 02:15, 25 March 2017 (UTC)
- (edit conflict) @Masclet~enwiki: Don't forget about the "significant" part of my comment as well. It does not appear to be the case that all of the user's edits were reverted immediately after they were made, nor is it the case that the user's edit history only consists of minor edits. Given this, I do not think a usurpation is possible here.
- P.S. You merely not agreeing with SUL finalisation is not a reason to contest it. —k6ka 🍁 (Talk · Contributions) 02:18, 25 March 2017 (UTC)
- You're not being totally fair K6ka, this user hasn't been active for a very long time and hasn't contested my claim, therefore I'd request you to wait and see if he has something to say before you take a unilateral action or decision. Thank you Masclet~enwiki (talk) 02:25, 25 March 2017 (UTC)
- @Masclet~enwiki: I haven't even closed or changed the status of your request yet, so I haven't even made a decision on your request. I am not saying that your request is void; I am saying that the requested username is not eligible for usurpation. Granted, if they agree to the usurpation then we may proceed, but if they don't respond we can't usurp them. —k6ka 🍁 (Talk · Contributions) 02:30, 25 March 2017 (UTC)
- @K6ka: According to WP:USURP it is eligible (have a look). To be honest I don't understand why it is not eligible here or for you. Moreover I thought if this user does not contest my request or do nothing, the request may be filled, and his/her account would be moved to a generic username. Is that right? Masclet~enwiki (talk) 02:51, 25 March 2017 (UTC)
- @Masclet~enwiki: The information at WP:USURP is outdated and is not up to date with current global rename policies. AnomieBOT only looked at local English Wikipedia account status and not global account status; when we usurp you, we must look at global account status because renames are done globally (It is not "fair" to usurp someone just because they had no edits on the English Wikipedia when they had edits on another Wikimedia wiki). Accounts are not usurped merely by inactivity, as I stated: if the user has made significant edits, they can not be usurped without their consent, so if they do not consent, the usurpation request cannot proceed. Usurpations are generally done if 1) The user has made zero edits; 2) The user has made edits that were all reverted; or 3) The user has made edits that were all deleted. There is no formal global usurpation policy but these are roughly the guidelines global renamers follow right now. —k6ka 🍁 (Talk · Contributions) 13:47, 25 March 2017 (UTC)
- @K6ka: you should update your system if you think it's outdated and has errors (in my opinion I think it works fine). The usurpation page says I'm eligible for it so I (still) don't get your negative answers and why you regard over a dozen (20) of normal edits as significant and a sizeble number of edits... Furthermore this user who you class as a "significant" contributor (which is obviously not) stopped making contributions to Wikipedia almost a decade ago (2008), therefore this means he has abandoned the project, so I don't think we need his authorisation to usurp his name, as he's not an active user. Masclet~enwiki (talk) 18:19, 25 March 2017 (UTC)
- (edit conflict) @Masclet~enwiki: That is not "my system"; that's a system the English Wikipedia had for many years, and it is no longer up to date with recent developments. Back then, renames were done locally so each individual wiki had more control over their own rename process. Now, as all renames are done globally, all wikis must now follow the global rename policy. There is no global usurpation policy yet but in general we follow the proposals and discussions set out at Requests for comment/Global usurpation policy 2. Lastly you continue to ignore my statement that "inactivity alone does not make a username eligible for usurpation" and continue to make your case that the username you are requesting is eligible for usurpation when in fact it is not. I have stated that iff the user consents to the usurpation then we may proceed, but if they do not, we can't force them to give up their name. You continuing to ignore information that goes against your beliefs isn't helping you at all right now. —k6ka 🍁 (Talk · Contributions) 18:42, 25 March 2017 (UTC)

- @K6ka: Excellent, it would be OK. I have passwords for both accounts so let's go ahead. Since current "Eugene Muzychenko" account is not linked to valuable history, you can rename it as you want.Евгений Музыченко (talk) 15:41, 25 March 2017 (UTC)
- @Евгений Музыченко: We can usurp the "Eugene Muzychenko" account, meaning that we can rename "Eugene Muzychenko" to a different name, and then rename "Евгений Музыченко" to "Eugene Muzychenko". If you have the password for "Eugene Muzychenko", you can post here confirming that you own the account so we can go ahead with the usurpation. —k6ka 🍁 (Talk · Contributions) 15:28, 25 March 2017 (UTC)
- @K6ka:Does it mean that it is technically impossible to rename my current account to "Eugene Muzychenko", and to use a Latin transliteration I should choose a different one?Евгений Музыченко (talk) 14:43, 25 March 2017 (UTC)

- I would consider a translated version of "Mad scientist" an appropiate username, if that's the question. Savhñ 17:46, 20 March 2017 (UTC)
- @Savh: can you deal with this request, please? (note here). Thanks--Alaa :)..! 18:49, 20 March 2017 (UTC)
- I have no knowledge of any Arabic language, and cannot really evaluate whether the username would be appropiate. I however do think that if it's a standard translation of "Mad scientist", it shouldn't be a problem. Savhñ 18:54, 20 March 2017 (UTC)
- @Savh: umm after look to username policies in diff. wiki, I found it's appropriate name (maybe inappropriate in ar.wiki only), so we can chnage to it, but I think in need a usurpation, yeah?--Alaa :)..! 19:43, 20 March 2017 (UTC)
- The name he links isn't exactly identical to the one that exists. Since the other account hasn't contributed either, there is no reason, at least in my opinion, to usurp the account. However, should the difference be so minimal (which I'm not able to evaluate) that the alternate spelling could lead to confusion, I would encourage an usurpation. If it goes against ar.wiki policy and the user intends to be active on ar.wiki, he might want to reconsider his name choice. Savhñ 23:31, 20 March 2017 (UTC)

- @Savh and K6ka: Thanks for clarification, I found the difference now (In requested name he use Persian letter (ی) but the exist one use Arabic one (ي)), and as I read here that we must not rename to Persian letter (Amir said: Just global renames should be aware of this similarity and don't rename to similar ones)- see this discussion! so as I read that we can rename to (دانشمند ديوانه) and not to (دانشمند دیوانه), because at the first name contain (ي) but the second contain (ی), thereby the username need usurpation! hope you understand me :) --Alaa :)..! 06:37, 21 March 2017 (UTC)

During usurption, I've got "The new username matches the following TitleBlacklist entry: .*(?i:[کك]چل|خ(و|)له|د[یي]وانه|مجنون|ماست شل|ماس شل).*". Either this record should be deleted or he/she should chose another username. In either case, I'm not super helpful Amir (talk) 08:51, 25 March 2017 (UTC)
- @دن کیشوت: as you read that we can't change to this name too! would you chose another one or just close the request? Thanks fro wait--Alaa :)..! 11:02, 25 March 2017 (UTC)
- @علاء: I do not understand why you do not consider my request? دن کیشوت (talk) 07:01, 26 March 2017 (UTC)
- This user name seems a bit humorous. But according to Wikipedia policy, there is no prohibition for that. دن کیشوت (talk) 09:27, 26 March 2017 (UTC)
- @دن کیشوت: I'm satisfied in your request and as I mention to Amir to do it, but there's a technical issue with change to names contain Persian letter (ی), and as Amir said above that the blacklist contain the word (ديوانه) so we can't change to it! I repeat technical issue! --Alaa :)..! 13:46, 26 March 2017 (UTC)
- Please do not create technical problems. The technical problems could be averted. Why did you enter my suggested username to the Blacklist? Can you whatever you want to enter the black list? دن کیشوت (talk) 20:33, 26 March 2017 (UTC)
- I'm not "چل" I'm not "ماست شل" and I'm not "خ(و|)له" I'm not... دن کیشوت (talk) 20:33, 26 March 2017 (UTC)
