= Greatest integer less than \(-|-1.3|\)
= Greatest integer less than \(-1.3\) = -2

What is the greatest integer that is less than: \(-|\sqrt{3}-3|\) ?

A. -3
B. -2
C. -1
D. 0
E. 1

Since \(\sqrt{3} < 3\), then \(\sqrt{3} - 3 < 0\), and thus \( |\sqrt{3} - 3| = -(\sqrt{3} - 3)\).

Hence, \( -|\sqrt{3} - 3| = \sqrt{3} - 3\). Next, since \(\sqrt{3} ≈ 1.7\), we have \(\sqrt{3} - 3 ≈ 1.7 - 3 = -1.3\).

The greatest integer that is less than -1.3 is -2.
