I’m wondering, does it make sense to re-do the failed problems (clearly, once you forgot them a bit)?
How are you dealing with failed questions?

Hi! There is a whole strategy to the error log and questions you got wrong.
I cherished them and printed out actually. The idea is not to solve them actually (you can if you indeed forgot them) - I did not forget most of mine.
So what I did was:
  1. Explain to myself what the correct answer/solution were/why
  2. Why I made a mistake
  3. My strategy and what I am changing so that I would avoid making this mistake again (not on this same question) but on similar quesitons or in similar mistake scenarios
I would write the last one on every sheet and I would review these every week or some of thems that were extra tricky, every few days.

Hi MBAToronto2024,

1. Absolutely, and this also can be useful for questions where you got the right answer, but did not use the right approach.

2. Even if you remember the question, it can be useful to go through the explanation/logic again. As bb mentioned, you may want to keep a list of such questions and review that list periodically.

Hello everyone, I’m new to the GMAT world. Despite having over 7 years of experience in HR, I’m finding it a bit repetitive and dull at the moment. I’m considering a transition into Business Analytics. I’ve completed my IIM PGP and am wondering if pursuing the EPGP would be a good step to kickstart my new career from the ground up. Think about your prep in 2 stages
Stage 1: Learning concepts.
How would you know you have completed stage 1?
If you can answer 8 of 10 questions randomly thrown at you from GMAT club correctly without TIME CONSTRAINT
Stage 2: Mocks
Here you develop your temperament for solving those questions in TIMED manner.

Currently, the best practice tests to take are the official MBA.com practice exams. There are six tests, two of which are free and four of which you must pay for. However, the paid practice exams can each be reset one time, and by doing so, you will see a new batch of questions.

Sure! I’m happy to help. =11ptWhen you are incorrectly answering Reading Comprehension questions, it’s partly because you do not truly understand what you have just read, right? To understand what you are reading, you likely have to slow down in order to (eventually) speed up. You have to learn to comprehend what you read, keep it all straight, and use what you are reading to arrive at correct answers. At this point, your best bet is to focus on getting the correct answers to questions, taking as much time as you need to see key details and understand the logic of what you are reading. If you don’t understand something, go back and read it one sentence at a time, even one word at a time, not moving on until you understand what you have just read. There is no way around this work. Your goal should be to take all the time you need to understand exactly what is being said and arrive at the correct answer. If you can learn to get answers taking your time, you can learn to speed up. Answering questions is like any task: The more times you do it carefully and successfully, the faster you become at doing it carefully and successfully.

=11ptAnother component to understanding what you are reading is being “present” when reading. Don’t worry about how things are going at work, or what you will eat for dinner, or even how long you’re taking to read through the passage. Just focus on what is in front of you, word by word, line by line. Furthermore, try to make reading fun. For example, even if you are reading about a topic that bores you, pretend that you are the person making the argument. By doing so, you will make the passage more relatable to YOU, and ultimately you should be able to read with greater focus.

=11ptOne final component of Reading Comprehension that may be tripping you up is that RC questions contain one or more trap answers that seem to answer the question but don’t really. So, a key part of training to correctly answer RC questions is learning to notice the differences between trap answers and correct answers. You have to learn to see how trap answers seem to follow from what the passages say, but don’t really, while correct answers fit what the passages say exactly. Of course, the better you become at noticing the differences between trap answer choices and correct answers, the faster you will answer RC questions.
