Hi, I would like a
profile review for applying to a deferred MBA program.
Demographics: 22 years old, Indian female
Education: Undergrad from a tier 3 college in India (not a high ranked college), 3.58 GPA, majoring in Computer Science
GMAT: 690 (V34, Q49)
Work experience: Incoming software engineer at IBM, former research intern at a tier 1 college in India
Extracurricular Activities: Chairperson of the ACM-W chapter of my college where I conducted and organised workshops, and served as subject matter experts in some of them; I was also the captain of my high school table tennis team winning numerous accolades.
Target Schools: Berkeley Haas, Kellogg, Chicago Booth, Wharton
Other relevant information: I am extremely skilled in Quant subjects, and have perfect scores in said subjects throughout my undergrad. I have a love of learning languages, as I love to know people from all over the world, and speak French and Spanish with intermediate fluency. I am also somewhat conversant in a few other foreign languages.
While I realise my GMAT score is quite a bit lower than scores usually required to make it to my target schools, I was hoping if my strong quant background may somewhat help my case. Also, it would be really helpful if you could maybe suggest schools in which I might have a better chance at getting in. I would also like to know if you think my profile is weak for a deferred MBA application, and should just apply instead in a regular entry program a few years from now.
Thank you for your time, and looking forward to hearing from you!
