I would retake for a few reasons. First, many of the top programs have experienced rapidly rising GMAT scores although your score is strong it still falls a bit below the average at many of the top programs. Also given you have the time I think it makes sense to put that time to use. Because as a reapplicant you will have to make a case for what has changed in the interim a new score will help here. Now I tend to think your issues are more reflective of issues with your story via your essays. So that should be another area of focus. Let me know if Veritas Prep can help you craft this story

Yes you should definitely retake the GMAT and think about the story you are conveying in your application. I work with a lot of applicants with similar backgrounds and 710 doesn't quite cut it.

Redo the GMAT and contact me if you want to work on your application to tie everything together. Your background should be interesting but it still needs to be explained well and if you got dings and a waitlist, something wasn't quite executed well.

I think you should probably retake the GMAT. Worst case scenario you score the same or worse and then you don't submit the scores and are out a few dozen hours of prep. Best case scenario you increase your score by thirty to forty points and not only have a really good case for admission, but might even open up some scholarship opportunities. I know it is rough to have to prep for the test again, but think it is worth a shot. Good luck!
