Its mightiness and magnificence bespeak a pomp and a luxury surpassing that of a Pharaoh or a Shah Jahan, an impressiveness greater than that of the Pyramids, an artistic distinctiveness as fine as that of the Taj Mahal. « less

The place is overcrowded with tourist groups. Not much signage around, so if you're without a guide then there's not much sense you're going to make of the place as Lonely Planet helps only so much. Couldn't see audio guides around too. When I visited, the front was under renovation a bit, so I missed out on the amazing front... More

Very interesting place / places to see. I recommend though to buy a local guide to navigate you around. The only downside of the Wat is that there are streetsellers bugging you all the time when you are travelling from one wat to another. More

While the famous name should speak enough for itself, get ready for impressive sight-seeing, including spectacular prospects along with beautiful ancient stonemasonry. More

This temple is wonderful. The carvings are out of this world and the site is just so large. Brilliant. More

I had first been here in 2006 and I was very happy to see that much has been done to protect and preserve the ruins since 2006. As a visitor, the best improvement was to the tallest tower which now has a proper wooden staircase instead of a harrowing rickety single railing and the narrow & high stone steps. It... More

The Temples of Ankor Wat are amazing. We traveled to Ankor Wat with our two children ages 9 & 14 and there was something for everyone. Our older son was impressed by the scale of the temples and our daughter loved seeing the monkeys! This is a must see if you are visiting Siem Reap. More

Angkor Wat is stunning in beauty and history It is a must to see this stunning Hindu temple. I would advise a guide so you understand its history and to really appreciate its beauty. You can even get a balloon to go up and see it from a birds eye view. Stunning !! . More

Angkor is so much more than beautiful temples, it’s living history, indelible proofs of an ancient civilization that left us with a tangible link to their past. I got a tuk tuk and a private guide to take us around these 3 days and I have to say this was one of the most memorable experiences of our trip. You... More

When being a travel enthusiast, like myself, you can not avoid the desire of visiting Angkor Wat. The best time to visit - sunrise, if you are lucky, and see a good one, you will remember it forever. The place is huge and you will need a few hours to explore. I would recommend visiting Angkor Wat after you have... More
