About the Working Group on Joint Funding, Financial & Audit Issues

The Working Group on Joint Funding, Finance and Audit issues focuses on developing guidance and oversight mechanisms in cases where there is joint funding by agencies, such as in multi-donor trust funds and joint programmes.

The WG on Joint Funding, Financial and Audit Issues provides guidance on enhancing the coherence, effectiveness and harmonization of issues related to joint funding, finance and audit at the country level, by ensuring the availability of up-to-date, high quality, coherent and consistent guidance based on the needs and demands at country level, including through modification of existing instruments where possible. Specifically, the Working Group on Joint Funding, Financial and Audit Issues works to:

  • Develop guidance and provide recommendations in various areas of joint funding, finance and audit, based on policy decisions by the UNDG;
  • Ensure that the latest policy decisions and developed guidance are relayed to the country offices for implementation;
  • Seek information and provide advice on joint funding, finance and audit bottlenecks experienced by country offices in their harmonization efforts;
  • Provide timely, coordinated, quality support and feedback to country offices on their new harmonization initiatives in areas of joint funding, finance and audit.
