Wanna make somethin' of it?

Megatron used to be the cruel and merciless leader of the Decepticons, who fought against Optimus Prime and his Autobots across both Cybertron and Earth.

These days, however, he's reformed. He now works with Optimus and his Autobots, as well as G.H.O.S.T., to protect the people of Earth, human and Cybertronian alike. However, that doesn't mean he follows Optimus blindly. Megatron cares deeply for his former troops, and does NOT appreciate G.H.O.S.T.’s treatment of them. He’s trying to make the best of a bad situation, in the name of peace, but there’s still a bit of tension between the two leaders. He has, however, forged a lasting friendship with fellow veteran Dot Malto.

As much as he has his doubts in the alliance with G.H.O.S.T., he doesn't regret turning away from what he was becoming. Though the other Decepticons call him "traitor", he's the only one who still believes in their original vision: a peaceful and plentiful future for the Cybertronian race. He sees the Terrans as the embodiment of that hope, and wants to make sure they don't make the same mistakes he now regrets.

"I'm afraid I can't let you do that, Megatron"

Megatron led the Decepticons in a war against the Autobots on Cybertron. However, things changed when the war moved to Earth and Megatron came to realize how far he strayed from his original ideals when he encountered the human soldier, Dot Malto. Warzone At some point, the two fought together in the Battle of Burbank.Secret Legacy, Part 2 Megatron later convinced Optimus Prime of his change of spark by scanning an Earth alternate mode, taking on the form of a helicopter so he could defend Dot and other human soldiers from a seeker attack. Outtakes When the Decepticons moved the source of Cybertronian life, the AllSpark, off their home world and brought it to Earth to try and create a new Decepticon army, Megatron realized how dire the war had become. He aided Optimus in the final battle of the war, where he snuck behind enemy lines and stole the AllSpark from his former friend and subordinate, Shockwave. Imprisoning Shockwave and fighting through his own former soldiers as he tried to return the AllSpark to Cybertron, Megatron could only gaze in awe as it looked like the AllSpark was destroyed after he hurled it through space bridge, which exploded when Optimus fired a shot at it. Warzone With both factions now stranded on Earth and the war essentially over, Megatron began working with both the Autobots and humans, including Dot Malto as part of Platoon Cyber Strike, to rebuild the damage the war had caused and round up resisting Decepticons, many of whom regarded Megatron as a traitor. He and Optimus began working with the secret human organization G.H.O.S.T. Secret Legacy, Part 1

When someone began attacking G.H.O.S.T. convoys near Witwicky, Megatron arrived to help Optimus and Elita-1, and was reunited with Dot. Secret Legacy, Part 1 Their investigation led them to Dot's kids, who had encountered two new Terran Transformers, Thrash and Twitch. After the two Terrans were botnapped by Mandroid, Megatron and the others had to assault the scientist's base to rescue them. Secret Legacy, Part 2 Megatron was training in a simulator provided by G.H.O.S.T. when Bumblebee contacted him looking for advice on getting Twitch and Thrash to listen to him. Megatron's advice was not all that helpful. Moo-ving In Megatron and Optimus found themselves struggling in battle against Frenzy, Laserbeak and Ravage after the cassettebots stole Agent Schloder's ID badge. With Bumblebee's help, the trio were captured, though Megatron was beginning to regret how they were treating his former comrades. On the way back to the G.H.O.S.T. base, they were attacked by Soundwave, and though Soundwave was defeated and captured, Megatron opted to let the three cassettebot minions go. Decoy

During an Autobot Alliance ceremony at G.H.O.S.T., Megatron and Optimus found themselves battling Skywarp and Nova Storm, who had come aiming to get hold of Optimus's left arm. Though they fought the pair off, Megatron believed the battle would not help cement human/Cybertronian relations. When the two seekers were later captured, Megatron and Dot went to take the pair in to captivity, only to discover it was a trap. They were instead imprisoned by Mandroid, who had machinery ready to disassemble Megatron. Age of Evolution, Part 1 Optimus and the Terrans arrived posing as captives of three new Terrans, and though the plan was exposed almost immediately, it succeeded in freeing Megatron. Mandroid's base turned out to be a huge mech, and Megatron and Twitch provided air support while the others took out the mech's cameras. When the time came to destroy the mech's cannon, Megatron was too injured to continue, leading Twitch to carry out the task instead. In the aftermath, Megatron pointed out the lack of G.H.O.S.T. backup to Optimus, but the Autobot leader pointed out the Terrans and humans that they had fought alongside as the true alliance. Age of Evolution, Part 2

Sometime after the battle, Megatron was performing cleanup duty with Elita-1 when he was approached by the young Terran, Jawbreaker, who nervously asked how he got his current an alt-mode. Taken aback at this, as no one had ever asked him that question before, Megatron sat down with the young bot and told him how he got his tiltrotor alt-mode. He at first thought it unfair to lose his Cybertronian alt-mode but had to make a quick decision when Dot Malto's squad came under attack and their unit needed air support. The other Terran present, Hashtag, then began replaying footage of this moment but was quickly told to stop by Jawbreaker for drudging up bad memories. Outtakes

Megatron later brought the Malto children and Terrans to the Spacebridge Memorial Park. Despite the location bringing up bad memories, Megatron taught the children the true history of the final battle of the war, mainly that the AllSpark's seeming destruction meant Cybertron itself was also destroyed and the Transformers stranded on Earth were the only remaining survivors of their species. His history lesson was interrupted by the returning Shockwave, freed from the stasis chamber Megatron had long ago trapped him. Vowing that the war wouldn't end so long as he functioned, Shockwave and Megatron battled it out until Megatron got the drop on him with a shot from The Immobilizer, once again forcibly putting Shockwave into stasis-lock. As the morning dawned and Shockwave was taken into custody by G.H.O.S.T., Megatron gave some parting words of advice to the Terrans, not to simply just learn from their Autobot/Decepticon seniors, but to be better than they were. Warzone

Mandroid used a hologram of Megatron as an avatar to fight the Malto kids when they were trapped in the Autobot rec room. Disarmed Following a jail break by Starscream, Megatron disregarded Croft's instructions and secretly pursued his former subordinate into an unused cave system. He found both the missing Decepticons and the Malto kids in a fight with the Dweller, and afterwards offered Starscream a safe haven rather than taking him back to G.H.O.S.T., though the offer was refused. What Dwells Within Megatron continued to be frustrated by Croft's refusal to let him go after Starscream. Optimus turned out to share his concerns about G.H.O.S.T., revealing to Megatron that he'd had Bumblebee infiltrate the base to investigate the areas they were barred from. Stowed Away, Stowaways

Receiving a distress call from Hashtag using an old Decepticon frequency, Megatron headed to the Malto farm with Optimus and a group of Autobots to help defend it against Croft's squad of Ghoids. Though they were triumphant, Croft activated a Mandroid-supplied device that knocked out Megatron and the Autobots present. The Battle of Witwicky Megatron and the others remained out-cold while Mandroid began enacting his plan to turn the spacebridge into a worldwide energon-draining superweapon The Last Hope, Part 1 but he and the others were brought back online under Mandroid's control so that they could protect the weapon. Megatron was directed at Twitch and she was just able to avoid being fragged until Starscream arrived to keep his former leader busy. When Mandroid activated the superweapon, the pair were deactivated and dropped from the sky, later being reactivated when Robby and Mo used their cyber-sleeves to reverse the effects. The Last Hope, Part 2
