One Saturday I took a walk to Zipperhead
I met a girl there and she almost knocked me dead

A rowdy rebellious rocker, Frenzy lives up to her name. She's a cauldron of chaotic energy out to have a good time, and that usually means trouble for everyone else. She can emit a debilitating sonic scream to take on bots many times her size, setting them up for a clean shot with her laser-blaster guitar.

Too loud for you? Frenzy likes it loud!

—Frenzy, "Decoy"

Let's travel round the world
Just you and me, punk rock girl.

Following the end of the Autobot/Decepticon war, Frenzy remained with Soundwave as one of a number of hold out Decepticons following Megatron's defection. Soundwave had her, Ravage and Laserbeak steal Agent Schloder's ID card as part of a plan to rescue their comrades imprisoned in G.H.O.S.T.'s HQ, and when the trio were tracked down by Megatron and Optimus Prime. They were able to successfully hold the pair off, even unleashing their Tri-Tone attack, until Bumblebee arrived with restraining bolts, and the cassette-bots were captured. Soundwave attacked the Autobots on their way back to HQ, freeing the cassette-bots with an electromagnetic pulse. After tussling with Megatron, the cassette-bots turned their attention on the Terran and human Malto kids, however their Tri-Tone attack turned out to be countered by the catchy song the kids had made up. Frenzy advanced on them with her guitar blaster, only to be knocked flat by Bumblebee. In the aftermath, Megatron persuaded Optimus to let the cassette-bots free, believing G.H.O.S.T.'s imprisonment of Cybertronians to be wrong. When Ravage later went to rejoin Soundwave, Frenzy pointed out they were free but Ravage left regardless of her words. Decoy

Later, Frenzy and Laserbeak took jobs at the Bot Brawl events held in the Philadelphia underground, gleefully providing color commentary for each fight. However, the bout between Bumblebee and Grimlock proved to be a bit more than either cassette-bot could handle: Jawbreaker used the subway car the pair were using as a commentary booth to trip up the Dinobot, which allowed the Autobots to remove Mandroid's mind control badge from him. The two then fled as an unleashed, enraged Grimlock began to trash the arena. Home, Part 1

Notes

  • EarthSpark Frenzy is the first incarnation of the character to be depicted as female.
  • The FIRRIB thing is dodged by Frenzy by being purple. (Though Rumble in the original cartoon was also kind of purple-ish, so maybe we aren't out of the woods yet...)
  • In the Hungarian dub, Frenzy is dubbed by a male voice actor. Though a relatively high-pitched voice is used for the character's debut episode, this is done away with for Frenzy's later appearance, seemingly solidifying him as a male in this dub.
  • Frenzy's guitar is visually based on her Generation 1 namesake's weapons put together as one unit.

Foreign names

  • Japanese: Frenzy (フレンジー Furenjī)
  • Hungarian: Tomboló ("Rampager")
