Come on, everybody. Let's do the Ōbari.

Forged from the Angolmois Energy of the Earth itself, the twin Magma Blades (マグマブレード Maguma Burēdo) are the signature weapons of the Dinobot combiner Volcanicus, wielded in the name of the Oracle.

"Me Grimlock like to see Prime's magic letter opener do this!"

On the ropes against Predaking during a Quintesson incursion on Dinobot Island in 2050, a despairing Grimlock was contacted by the Oracle once more. The entity instructed Grimlock to harness the power of Earth's Angolmois Energy, which allowed him to manifest the Magma Blades. Combining with them, Grimlock transformed into his "Wing Dragon Mode" and disarmed the Predacon combiner of Divebomb. After Volcanicus was brought into existence, he sliced Predaking into his components with his dual Magma Blades. Volcanicus comic 1 Grimlock next used the Magma Blades against the Cybertron Alliance during the Selector revolt at Neo Scramble City before attempting to use it to cut off Optimus Prime's head. However, he was unable to finish his swing thanks to then-revealed programming that prevented the Dinobots from taking Autobot life. Volcanicus comic 2 After the battle evolved with the emergence of Megatron Omega, Volcanicus attempted to block back the rampaging Decepticon's Angolmois beam with his Magma Blade to protect his fellow Primitive warrior Abominus. The blade was of little use in the end, leading to Volcanicus being hit himself. Abominus comic 2

The Dinobots and Terrorcons were brought to the past—to the Precursor World—where Volcanicus attempted to attack Neo Primus with a Magma Blade, only to be sent flying by the behemoth's forearm cannons for his trouble. Volcanicus wasn't out yet, as Hun-Gurrr returned the Dinobots' earlier kindness and supercharged one of the Magma Blades with Angolmois Energy liberated from Neo Primus own stores to create the Angolmois Blade! Thus empowered, the Angolmois Blade was used to put Neo Primus out of commission and force it to transform back into the Blue Planet. Finale

This sword is made for crushing, not slicing.
Generations Selects Volcanicus includes a huge, newly-tooled pair of Magma Blades based on the sword he wields in Transformers: Earth Wars (itself based on that of Fall of Cybertron Grimlock). They exceed Earthrise Optimus Prime in terms of height.[1]
Volcanicus was released as a Takara Tomy Mall exclusive in Japan, and was also made available through Hasbro Pulse in the United States.
