Orthosiphon spiralis (Lour.) Merr., Lingn. Agric. Rev. 2 (1923) 137 has been rejected as the correct name of this taxon, because the identity of its basionym (Trichostema spiralis Lour., Fl. Coch. (1790) 371 seemed to be uncertain (Keng 1978, 301).
