Ultimate Electronics

Ultimate Electronics was an American chain of consumer electronics that was founded in 1968 and filed for bankruptcy in 2005 and 2011. At their height they operated 64 stores in 14 states. It’s headquarters were in Thornton, Colorado. At its peak, they operated in Arizona, Colorado , Illinois, Iowa, Idaho, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nevada, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Oregon, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, South Dakota, Texas, Pennsylvania, Utah, and Wisconsin. The Colorado, Minnesota, Iowa and South Dakota locations were known for a number of years as SoundTrack and Audio King. Only 78 locations of Ultimate Electronics ever opened. The major factor to the Ultimate Electronics bankruptcy was their expansion.
