The Authorized King James Version is an English translation of the Christian Bible. King James I of England told the Church of England to begin working on it in 1604. The first book was published in 1611. This Bible is known as the King James Version in the United States, or KJV for short. This version of the Bible is also called the Authorized Version, or AV.
