Authorized King James Version

The Authorized King James Version is an English translation of the Christian Bible. King James I of England told the Church of England to begin working on it in 1604. The first book was published in 1611. This Bible is known as the King James Version in the United States, or KJV for short. Many people in the United Kingdom call this Bible the Authorized Version.
