I want to usurp the following accounts

I also want to usurp accounts at de, ro, pt and es wikipedias but I am assuming that there are 'crats at those Wikis (I don't have available Internet credit to find out). If that's not the case then please usurp me at those places too.

--Xania (talk) 22:52, 6 June 2014 (UTC)

Hi, there are local crats on all of those wikis. You'll need to contact them to proceed. Sorry, Ajraddatz (talk)
So I have to waste about an hour of my time trying to find the right place to post on each Wiki, trying to understand their requirments, etc. just to get control of accounts which (based on what I could see) have not made any edits on any of those projects? What is the point in this bureaucracy? I can't even understand why it's like that which would help a bit.--Xania (talk) 23:06, 6 June 2014 (UTC)
There's a page that links all pages, RENAMELINKS. It might be unnecesary bureacracy, but we as stewards should not act if a local user is capable of performing the required action. If you want an account on all those projects, you should request it individually. As a local eswiki bureacrat, I have gone ahead and performed the usurp, but other project might require some criteria to be met. Having helped many users with global renames, I certainly look forward to global renaming becoming available, as I am well aware how tiresome the process is. But, as stewardship does not place us above communities, we are not entitled to overrule. Good luck, Savhñ 23:16, 6 June 2014 (UTC)
Thanks for that. I think I'm going to give up. The process is too difficult and on some of those projects there are few if any instructions in English (I am multilingual but not in those 6 languages). Would it be easier if I just created an entirely new account and requested that edits from the other 100 wikis be merged?----Xania (talk) 23:33, 6 June 2014 (UTC)
No, I doubt that would be easier. If SUL finalization is ever complete then those accounts will be automatically usurped and you can take over the username. In the mean time, we need to continue to deal with the excessive bureaucracy which is somehow assisting our ability to build encyclopedias (????) Ajraddatz (talk) 00:28, 7 June 2014 (UTC)
Where is the page for requesting usurping on lb.wikipedia? I can't see it in the list? How long is it supposed to take each project? No reply to my messages on PT.Wikipedia or DE.Wikipedia. It's not as though they are quiet wikis either. On both sites I had to follow confusing instructions and wait, wait, wait. Are you telling me that Stewards aactually have the ability to do these changes but you don't because of policy? Someone make this process simpler please and just usurp me so I can stop wasting my time.--Xania (talk) 18:41, 9 June 2014 (UTC)
Furthermore, on FI.Wikipedia it's not even possible for an IP user to request usurping. So am I really expected to create a new account just for the sole purpose of doing this? Please sort it out for me. This is a joke.--Xania (talk) 18:43, 9 June 2014 (UTC)
DE.Wikipedia is done now. —DerHexer (Talk) 19:01, 9 June 2014 (UTC)
It seems like lb.wikipedia is fixed as well. -- Tegel (Talk) 19:11, 9 June 2014 (UTC)
OK, now a 'Crat from Romanian Wikipedia (here) seems to be telling me it isn't possible to take over the local Xania name of that wiki. Are different projects allowed these differing rules? Why? What is the point in all this SUL, encouraging people to edit x wiki when the rules just get in your way. Can a steward here just do what I am requesting. The rules may say one thing but what about common sense? Wikimedia seems to be lacking in common sense and the red tape around here is making me very tired of Wikimedia projects.--Xania (talk) 21:37, 9 June 2014 (UTC)
Hello? What am I supposed to do now that two of the projects have told me that their policies forbid usurping? Can't a steward override this on grounds of common sense? --Xania (talk) 12:07, 14 June 2014 (UTC)
Stewards can't, local projects wouldn't like it at all. But soon you can make an usurp request again at fi-wiki, because we are going to allow for IP editors to make a request. --Stryn (talk) 13:52, 14 June 2014 (UTC)

I want to be renamed to Abhinav with the following accounts // I want to usurp the following accounts

  • Confirmation Link: diff
  • Remark : Although sa.wiki, ml.wiki, te.wiki have their own request pages, but the requests haven't been fulfilled for over a year. I have posted my request there, but I have little hope they will be done soon.

Status:    Done

I'd like to usurp the following account:

The account has no log entries. I cannot merge it into my SUL (I tried with all the password I used to use on WM sites), I'm not even certain to have created it myself. Thank you. --Paginazero - Ø 07:46, 12 June 2014 (UTC)

Done, il nome utente è ora disponibile.

User:Fox21

Status:    Not done

I want to be renamed to TheFox21 with the following accounts

On de-Wikipedia I used "Fox21" as username but "Fox21" is not available on en-Wikipedia. So I registered "TheFox21" at en-Wikipedia. Please rename my user "Fox21" at de-Wikipedia to "TheFox21" without losing any contributions, to use "TheFox21" as a unified login. --Fox21 (talk) 16:20, 10 June 2014 (UTC)

Status:    Not done

I am the user EditorJohnny. Please delete my global account. I have had a "sockpuppet" investigation commenced, then other submissions questioned having nothing to do with the sockpuppet. I find myself having to spend an inordinate amount of time defending myself or my submissions. It is simply not worth my time. Delete this global account please. Thank you very much. EditorJohnnyEditorJohnny (talk) 18:33, 16 June 2014 (UTC)

Sorry, we do not delete global accounts for this reason. QuiteUnusual (talk) 18:35, 16 June 2014 (UTC)

The user Winelight at st.wiktionary.org is me but I have forgotten the password, and there is no email address associated with the account so I cannot recover it. Can you help please? --Winelight (talk) 06:55, 17 June 2014 (UTC)

I cannot recover that account, though there are 0 edits on it. I've renamed it, so that you can re-create it there. To do this, simply visit that project while logged on to your global account. Regards, Ajraddatz (talk) 06:58, 17 June 2014 (UTC)
Many thanks for such a swift response.--Winelight (talk) 07:10, 17 June 2014 (UTC)

I have made requests at the specific wikis (V & Species) but have since come to know their crats haven't been active since a while. Hence I'm reqesting to be renamed to Abhinav with the following accounts to complete my SUL process.

I want to be renamed to User:XOXOXO with the following accounts and I want to usurp the following accounts

--Offlineinternet (talk) 18:49, 21 June 2014 (UTC)

There are active bureaucrats at fa.wiki. Please as them to do the rename first and then come back here for any remaining accounts on wikis without bureaucrats. MBisanz talk 22:01, 21 June 2014 (UTC)
hi Been done before I want to use SUL login but I can't because I can't attach this user (which is mine and I can confirm that). So please move this account XOXOXO I can make a new one using SUL global accounts Offlineinternet (talk) 01:59, 22 June 2014 (UTC)

User:Winelight

Status:    Not done

The next two wikis where users "Winelight" exist (these ones definitely aren't me) are ja.wikipedia.org and zh.wikipedia.org. These do have local bureaucrats, but of course the pages are in the relevant languages, so I am unable to sensibly read / understand which bureaucrats are active, and can't post in the appropriate format or language. Any helpful suggestions as to how I should proceed would be greatly appreciated. --Winelight (talk) 07:19, 17 June 2014 (UTC)

Jawiki allows stewards to do renaming, so I could usurp the request there - except that it has over 50 edits, including one from within the last year. As such, I'm not willing to usurp it, though it will be automatically usurped when SUL finalization is done in a few months since you own the global account. So, with that one, you could wait a few months or you could leave a note on their talk page saying that you want the username and if they don't respond in a similar time period I could usurp the account for you.
Zhwiki doesn't allow stewards to rename, but same deal - the local account has edits and some are recent. My personal advice would be to just wait for SUL finalization, and to create another account (Winelight-global?) on those projects if you want to edit them. Hopefully this mess will be sorted out soon... Ajraddatz (talk) 16:38, 17 June 2014 (UTC)
Thanks for a comprehensive answer. I will take your advice and wait. --Winelight (talk) 21:31, 17 June 2014 (UTC)
Not done as user has chosen to wait for SUL finalization. --Rschen7754 08:16, 29 June 2014 (UTC)

I want to usurp the following account:

w:sa:ElfalemcontribslogCentralAuthusurp

I'm not sure even if a user exists on that wiki with the same name but I'm not able to login. I asked both bureaucrats on that wiki (here and here and also by email) but I didn't get a response.
