I'm a bit hesitant about granting adminship here. You made your first edit the same day you opened the discussion and your only edits on the project have been today and 10 days ago, a large amount of them in userspace. Also, the only supporter in the discussion was an IP whose only edit on the project was supporting in that discussion. I'm not saying you have bad intentions, but due to what I've mentioned above this feels a bit too weak for me to grant here. I'd probably grant if someone from the local community supported, but that isn't the case here, so I'm still going to leave this to another steward for them to decide. Agree with EPIC, the number of requests for admin and other permissions across many projects without the necessary experience [2] is worrying me. @Zulf if the local community needs help with some administrative tasks, they can use GSR or SRM and ask global sysops / stewards. BTW: the user tried to strike two users' votes on the grounds that they didn't have experience (and I could not see any consensus for making such a requirement). I've removed that, as I don't think this is appropriate in a community this small. This was done in good faith, so feel free to revert if this is inappropriate. Yes, I noted that fawikisource has a permanent administrator, but as they only seem to be sporadically active and were appointed many years ago when the wiki still had local bureaucrats (and when stewards were more liberal with granting permanent adminship), and as fawikisource's community is quite small, I granted temporarily as per our general criteria for granting adminship on small wikis (MVR). Recently, there are almost no active users in Turkmen, there are very few edits, and of course no one voted for me. As for my level of knowledge of the language, I am constantly working on it. There are indeed no active users, let alone a native Turkmen speaker. In the past few years I have only seen a couple tk-N users, none of which are active at the moment, including the only other admin, who hasn't edited for months. I don't think the lack of knowledge of the language is a deal breaker since Turkic languages are generally similar (the candidate is uz-N) and I myself also with "only" tk-1 have managed to do it for some time now. As for the actual candidate, I don't really have an objection since I've somewhat know Umarxon on uzwiki from my time as a global sysop. The desysop that took place there is over a year ago now and while it appears to be problematic, not a lot of the concerns raised there applicable to tkwiki, especially given that the user was allowed to retain the eliminator right to delete articles even after the desysop. I think this is in line with what is expected at tkwiki, where not much happens apart from a few spam pages every now and then. Styyx (talk) 16:12, 16 May 2024 (UTC)

@Waihorace per Steward requests/Permissions/Minimum voting requirements#Bureaucrat there are a couple of requirements which are not met:
  • at least 15 votes (just 9 votes)
  • at least 6 permanent administrators (just 2 permanent admins, 2 temporary admins, 1 permanent admin bot and the abuse filter account [3])
  • and there doesn't seem to be much need for crats, looking at the user rights changes [4]?

Also, in evaluating this kind of requests, I remember that the first point, the main one imho (while we could be flexible about some others), says that "The local community must be large enough to require a bureaucrat. The definition of "large enough" is determined by the stewards but can include factors such as how often the stewards have needed to assign or remove administrator, bot or translation administrator permissions over a significant period of time.". Please remove all of my advanced permissions on all projects. This includes my local and global steward access (and related roles/accesses), as well as my admin rights on Meta, Swedish Wikipedia and Wikidata.

I've been dealing with a bunch of real life issues and downfalls over the last few months which are affecting me as a Wikimedian and my Wikimedia work overall, and I don't think they are compatible with holding higher positions.

Having me as a steward and a member of other roles under these circumstances is likely undesirable. I do not think I am a suitable steward under these circumstances either and I'm quite sure all this stuff will affect my energy to work effectively on Wikimedia in the future, so I think there is no need for me anymore, especially since we have multiple other active users in my roles. As such, I do not want to have these rights just for the sake of it and would like to have them removed.

I've thought through this for weeks and I partly regret doing this, but I think it is best for myself and everyone else.

Still, you can place this on hold for 24 hours as usual in case anything changes, and I will do some steward work throughout the day. Thank you. EPIC (talk) 23:08, 11 May 2024 (UTC)
