On hold for a week minimum. I think it's better to put the voting page on da.wikibooks, and only link the voting page to da.wikipedia. Bennylin 09:44, 20 June 2012 (UTC)
This user is young and has just picked up one admin mop. I would prefer to see that managed well before moving onto another. — billinghurst sDrewth 13:44, 20 June 2012 (UTC)

Sotiale@beta.wikiversity

Good to see you. I request custodianship in BETA Wikiversity. The community judges my qualification of Custodianship(sysop). Result is above discussion, 5 supports and no oppose. As far as I know, consensus needs at least 1 week. This discussion meets the minimum requirement, I think. Although crats(sebmol and hillgentleman) exist in beta wikiversity, they are inactive now. For this reason, please judge my custodianship. Thank you for your service. Have a good time :) --Sotiale (Talk·Contribs) 01:43, 9 July 2012 (UTC)

Avgustos@jbo.wiktionary

Hello. There has been one vote in favor of user AugPi (me) and none against. The vote was weak because "AugPi" is un-lojbanic (either that or because I missed the word "la'e" in the headline... which is needed to make the sentence refer to user AugPi instead of the name "AugPi"...). I created a new account, Avgustos, which is more lojbanic. There is no bureaucrat (or steward) on jbo.wiktionary to make anyone an admin (including me), so I have to recourse to making a request here. (There had been a recent proposal to close down jbo.wiktionary, one of the reasons in favor of which was the absence of any admin on jbo.wiktionary, so granting adminship to Avgustos might help the cause of jbo.wiktionary's survival...) —AugPi (t) 15:14, 11 July 2012 (UTC)

Hi, correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems that the linked vote contains only input from 2 of your accounts, and it would seem as if you were thus exclusively self-elected? Pundit (talk) 20:20, 13 July 2012 (UTC)
Wrong. The vote in my favor was from anonymous user 2002:52D3:A7D8:0:213:D4FF:FE60:17EB. My smaller-font message was in order to notify that the voting edit was from anonymous user 2002:52D3:A7D8:0:213:D4FF:FE60:17EB. My pair of messages under that were responses to that anonymous user. —AugPi (t) 16:44, 17 July 2012 (UTC)
By the way, that same Lojban-writing anonymous user made the following edit (to meta-wiki): diff=3855381. —AugPi (t) 17:00, 17 July 2012 (UTC)
Thank you for your reply. Again, pardon my ignorance, but do anonymous users have voting rights on this project? Many apologies for my confusion. Pundit (talk) 20:51, 17 July 2012 (UTC)
There is as yet no voting policy on jbo.wiktionary. —AugPi (t) 14:35, 20 July 2012 (UTC)
The anonymous voter obviously knows Lojban, though, and cared enough to register a vote. No one else has bothered to even register an "Abstain" vote (no'e sarji in Lojban). —AugPi (t) 14:46, 20 July 2012 (UTC)
And, by the way, bende ckupau is not a page for carrying out formal votes; it is rather much more like the "Beer Parlour" in en.wiktionary (my "home wiki"). In 2010, a user named I-20 proposed on the bende ckupau, in English, to become the wiki's admin. No one bothered to register any comment. Two years later the wiki still has no admin. So the fact that that anonymous user registered a comment, and wrote that comment in Lojban — not English — is a lot of progress for the jbo.wiktionary. —AugPi (t) 14:58, 20 July 2012 (UTC)
  • Because this discussion indicates, that the project indeed may need an admin, and since the community is way too small and has not voiced its support clearly, I'm setting the rights up to expire in 6 months, with a hope the community will grow and get more admins meanwhile. Pundit (talk) 15:21, 20 July 2012 (UTC)

Sotiale@ko.wikisource

Good to see you. I request administrator access in Korean Wikisource. The community judges my qualification of administrator(sysop). Result is above discussion, 4 supports and no oppose. As far as I know, consensus needs at least 1 week(including site-notice). This discussion meets the minimum requirement, I think. Although 1 crat exist in Korean Wikisource, He is inactive long.. His final activity is 2008. For this reason, please judge my adminship. Thank you :) Sotiale (Talk·Contribs) 00:57, 20 July 2012 (UTC)

Done, local bureaucrat has been inactive and email was not possible. Bencmq (talk) 03:36, 20 July 2012 (UTC)

Sotiale@kowikiquote

According to steward's precious advice, I made a local announcement about temporary adminship. but, anyone didn't reply. In addition, Editing during some months is very small.. almost IP users and sometimes users. IMHO I think that this project is inactive. Therefore, I request temporary adminship for maintenance and repair, active this project. I don't know how long I will be granted, if possible I want 6 months temporary adminship. Thank you for your hard work, in advance. Sotiale (Talk·Contribs) 00:22, 24 July 2012 (UTC)

PuzzletChung is the local bureaucrat. I see he's editted last month; and is active at kowiki & enwiki (ref). He might be answering to talkpage messages or emails. Have you tried to contact him first? Set this on hold in the meanwhile, as you've made the local announcement and waited the required one week span. If he does not reply, we will re-evaluate.
— MA (audiencia) 09:20, 24 July 2012 (UTC)
He is active at another wiki, I already know. 1 week ago, I was confused because He was active at another wiki but was inactive at Wikiquote. I didn't know what can I do, I asked one steward about it. He answered that I could be granted adminship by local crat, if crat wanted to do. and I could make a local announcement. If anyone don't reply my request, I can do steward request. (I'm not sure that I understand his reply completely.) Your point is that at first I request local crat to be granted adminship? or I cannot do steward request? Sotiale (Talk·Contribs) 09:39, 24 July 2012 (UTC)
Hello. With a local bureaucrat we usually don't grant rights unless the user is completly inactive. Please ask PuzzletChung if he can flag you. He might even grant you permanent permissions. Regards, — MA (audiencia) 09:45, 24 July 2012 (UTC)
OK, first of all I request him. Thank you. This request lasts? I want to cancel it. Sotiale (Talk·Contribs) 09:50, 24 July 2012 (UTC)

Please cancel this request :) Because I contact local crat. He opens new discussion about my adminship.. This request doesn't hold true anymore. (He reply my request, request condition is broken; All admins and crat must be inactive.) Sotiale (Talk·Contribs) 14:12, 24 July 2012 (UTC)

Request canceled. Good luck in your RfA. — MA (audiencia) 15:24, 24 July 2012 (UTC)

Bureaucrat access

Dsvyas@gu.wikipedia

There is only one Bureaucrat on gu.wiki (see here) and that too inactive for ages now. He was last active on 18th November last year, and that too to leave a message on my talkpage. The project is growing and needs frequent user right management.DhavalTalk 22:42, 30 June 2012 (UTC)

On hold since the discussion was initiated only a few days ago. At least 1 week should be allowed before making any decision so this will not be processed before 2012-7-6. Bencmq (talk) 08:48, 1 July 2012 (UTC)
While I see some consensus here, I wonder if it is useful to only make one new crat. I'd like to hear the opinion from other fellows first before granting the right. -Barras talk 06:47, 7 July 2012 (UTC)
The current practice seemed to require at least 15 editors approval to make bureaucrats and have a number of admins. At least the RFC was going that way in line with the past years practice. I don't see —for me— enough consensus for creating more bureaucrats at guwiki. It's traffic can be managed here without fuss. Regards. — MA (audiencia) 18:23, 9 July 2012 (UTC)
It is not about having managed enough here, it is about having requests managed locally and where language of the requestor could be understood. If the community is small, these criteria need to be chaned or compromised with. If there is one Bureaucrat locally, who is inactive for years, why can't he be replaced? What is the view of others here on replacing that Bureaucrat? Policies made for larger sized projects, e.g. en.wiki or fr.wiki couldn't be implied to smaller growing projects, where in fact there is a higher need of having local Bureaucrats.--DhavalTalk 10:49, 11 July 2012 (UTC)
Spundun's 'crat rights are quite old, and under the current criteria he would not be granted the rights. In fact I cannot see that the 'crat rights have ever been applied at guwiki log, and it would seem that the rights that have been given probably should be retired. While I do not follow rights requests that closely, I do not see that there has been much call for these rights to be used at guwiki by the stewards. Happy to see the production of evidence for local evidence to support that claim, though the bulk of the work that happens is admin work, not 'crat.

There are four active contributors supporting, on that linked discussion, and that would seem be insufficient for the stewards to allocate the 'crat right, and I support the earlier views of my fellow stewards. To note that the rules being applied are not the rules of larger wikis, it is the rule applied to the little wikis that is being applied. — billinghurst sDrewth 11:39, 11 July 2012 (UTC)

not done on this occasion, insufficient support from within community. — billinghurst sDrewth 11:49, 11 July 2012 (UTC)
When we say insufficiant support from within community, it needs to be noted whether any oppose from within the community.--DhavalTalk 12:24, 11 July 2012 (UTC)
Sure, in this case insufficient support means not enough people supporting the proposal for the stewards to undertake the action; not that people did not support the proposal or that the proposal was directly opposed. — billinghurst sDrewth 12:29, 11 July 2012 (UTC)

Local desysop policy doesn't state anything about the sysop loosing or keeping CU or OS flags...--Jcaraballo 18:24, 6 July 2012 (UTC)
There is an evident lack of confidence within WP:es regarding User:Magister Mathematicae. The CU abuse played a central role in the discussions leading to his disapproval as a sysop. IMHO it is only obvious that all other (higher?) flags should be removed. Regards --Rapel (talk) 20:29, 6 July 2012 (UTC)
Commenting here as native Spanish speaker to answer some doubts that my fellows have around this request.
For starters: the reconfirmation voting is valid and policy based. MM has not achieved the required consensus for keeping their rights as such his reconfirmation has failed. Notwithstanding —and here is the problem in my opinion— the policy says nothing about what happens when a reconfirmation vote fails; just what happens when it's passed. That's both stupid and problematic in my opinion —specially for us, stewards, that have to decide which permissions we have to remove—. Everything has to be supossed. And in cases where the admin subject to reconfirmation is "just" an admin/crat it can be assumed that those flags ought to be removed and no more discussion would happen. It's somewhat an "obvious" case.
But here we are, with not a so-obvious-case: we have MM, which is also a CU & OS locally. As I've said es:Wikipedia:Revalidación de bibliotecarios says nothing regarding what happens to the permissions of the user that did not passed the confirmation. The only brief —and extremelly ambiguous— reference that I can find is over es:Wikipedia:Bibliotecarios#Retiro del permiso como resultado del proceso de revalidación which says that the administrator not passing the reconfirmation voting will have its permissions removed. Nothing specific. That page is not policy —or at least is not tagged as such— so it's not very helpful either.
Given that there's nothing specific mentioning what happen to the advanced permissions I'm inclined to just remove his administrator and bureaucrat flags which certainly we have to remove as he's not been reconfirmed for that; and let the eswiki community decide whether his "advanced" permissions ought to be removed too or not. With the recommendation to revise and rewrite the relevant policies to make them clear.
-- MA 20:58, 6 July 2012 (UTC)
Note: The policy was changed 2 days ago (based on this initiative from July 1st that counted with consensus) to cope with this ambiguity, so in the future all flags will be removed and now we only need to clarify the current situation with MM. --Poco a poco (talk) 08:51, 8 July 2012 (UTC)

I have written the details incorrectly, apologies for that. See it here. That block has very much to do with this request. Is there a particular inactivity policy on ilowiki? If so, where? Trijnsteltalk 14:30, 13 July 2012 (UTC)
There is no particular policy for admin inactivity in ilowiki, the link included above is the discussion inviting the named inactive admins to participate in creating one, but with no comments from said admins or no adverse comments from anyone. My point is, what is the point of having admin rights if you're not using it to maintan the wiki. Would it be more satisfying to approving beurocrats here if I requested for comments here on meta?--Lam-ang (talk) 17:37, 13 July 2012 (UTC)
Not done Without an inactivity policy, a desysop policy + community/arbcom vote or a request by the users in questions, we cannot remove inactive administrators. If you wish to remove inactive admin, you'd need to get ilowiki to approve a specific inactivity clause in the admin policy. Our hands are tied. Snowolf How can I help? 01:36, 25 July 2012 (UTC)
That's too bad...Ilowiki has no active community since it's inception in 2005, the two permanent admins in question were not even created via consensus, so trying to get a consensus or any vote to create this policy is impossible. Having these two inactive admins just confuses people espesially inexperienced editors as it gives the impression that these two admins are available for help (as I did here from my alternate account). I guess that's how it goes, we all get tied up by the same bureaucracy we created...but thanks anyway.--Lam-ang (talk) 06:07, 25 July 2012 (UTC)

On it.wiki, according to a 2008 survey, the administrators have to make admin-log in the last six months, not only edits or movements. --Gnumarcoo 12:44, 12 July 2012 (UTC)
Thanks. However, this user performed two deletions in the past six months, so they don't qualify for removal, right? -Barras talk 12:48, 12 July 2012 (UTC)
Nope. Those actions were done 10 days after the term (which it was 20 of June). --Gnumarcoo 12:52, 12 July 2012 (UTC)
IMHO it would be better to leave them a notice and then ask for the removal, the ratio of all inactivity policies is to avoid having (semi)abandoned accounts with higher rights. --Vituzzu (talk) 13:00, 12 July 2012 (UTC)

Done The user has replied to me on itwiki saying he agrees to the removal, as such I have performed it. I would however suggest that, as it's at least the second time that this happens, that the local policy be changed to specifically address whether actions after the 6 months count or don't, as users do often end up here in such a situation. I can't grant more than six months adminship as the community is not yet established on arwiktionary.
