Hello Spacebirdy and Chris, I am Sarvaturi from Sicilian wiktionary and wikipedia, I hope both of you are fine. I must say that there is not really a "local community" on mt.wiktionary: I am the main contributor (I create articles, and I wikificate other ones). Chris does a very good work on mt.wikipedia and I remember that he helped me for some Italian to Maltese translations (which were useful for creating new templates and categories on mt.wiktionary). On further review, and as you say Mardetanha, there were only 2 supports (although there were no objections)... that's rather low, so it probably makes sense to make this a temporary assignment. I think number of pages and number of tasks to do for admins is far more important than number of contributors (a good community doesn't need an admin if it functions well). I would suggest you request only sysop permission. New projects should first have a few active users (including administrators) and than request a bureaucrat flag for one of them. On projects with no bureaucrats, users can request a bot flag on Steward requests/Bot status and for other permissions users can request here (Steward requests/Permissions). I can't read Arabic, sorry. If the page says "deadminship is automatic, 6 months with no activity and that's it"... then that's clear cut. If it says (such as, for example, something like Commons) "deadminship can be proposed and if the discussion doesn't find a reason not to deadmin, then it happens" then it would be good to see the discussion, if there was one. I agree the discussion was short, but I'm not sure how much sense a month makes. It's up to the local community to come to a consensus. I agree the current discussion seems insufficient, but I don't think we should mandate a minimum length the discussion must run, in particular if it will be so long. I mostly agree with you. If it was a request for adminship, and the wiki badly needed active admins, I wouldn't mind. But a desysopping because of inactivity isn't really urgent. Since sv.wikiquote is a relatively small wiki and it's Summer holidays, I would argue we should wait at least 2 more weeks.
