I request for my adminship on mt.wiki. It's the second time I'm nominating myself for this wiki and I wish if a day I would acquire this right. On mt.wiki, although contributors are not that active, we still need an admin which can assist our work. The two "active" admins have made their last action on mt.wiki about a month ago, while Srl has been out for about nine months. I wish to receive any feedback; this wiki cannot continue without any active admin. Thanks. Chrisportelli 11:11, 2 November 2008 (UTC)

Hello Chrisportelli, I agree that the wiki needs an active admin. However we can't grant You adminship if there is no support of the community. I would normally have proposed You now a temporary-status but some things should be resolved first:
  • the local bureaucrat was active one month ago (that is not so long ago), he should be contacted first
  • why did he and others oppose Your last rfa?

In the last rfa the admins thought that an admin wasn't needed atm on the wiki. Although they had been away only for about a month, they still have their duties to serve on the wiki. Chrisportelli 15:35, 2 November 2008 (UTC)

Closing this as not done, because at least one crat I have contacted answered. The status will be granted locally now that a local bureaucrat is aware of the voting, he might chose to wait some days still, but that is a local decision now.

Hello, I agree that th.wikt needs an active admin. The voting started today, and I would therefore suggest either: to keep it open at least a week to grant others to vote there, or if the community is too small for votings (looking at the recent changes this seems to be the case) we could grant him a temporary sysop access for 3 months (note this is technically the same, he just drops us a note here a few days before the status expires to prolong it). I agree that I'm very new to this particular project, however, it is in danger of being closed and I do not want to see that happen. Re-opening the request (Spacebirdy said it was OK to add this): This is actually a request from me, the only bureaucrat at Simple English Wikiquote. I would like to find a steward who will volunteer to review my closing of this RfB. I would ask another bureaucrat on the project to do this if there were any. Hey Coppertwig. If the project requests assistance from Meta, it can certainly be given, but we do try to avoid pushing decisions onto projects. You might want to ask the next three stewards that happen upon this section (as an example) to do a review of your closing and offer opinions to you and the simple.wikiquote community regarding said closing. This way, you can get unbiased opinions from globally trusted individuals without sacrificing local autonomy. Kylu 02:29, 7 November 2008 (UTC)

This is a slightly irregular request, but so long as it's clear that we're only giving advice and not making decisions, I see no harm in it. It looks to me as though Coppertwig made the right decision. There's nothing "drive-by" about the opposition -- both Microchip08 and Djsasso participated in multi-turn conversations in response to American Eagle's comments, so it's not as though they voted and disappeared. This wiki appears to only have 3 sysops: [1] and it already has one 'crat: [2] although Peringz appears not to be active for a while now... at least 2 of the 10 supporters of Shijualex appear to have supported Shijualex as their only contribution to this wiki. First, ml.wikisource is an active wikisource. I believe this page doesn't offer a true comparison of the level of activity due to the issue cited here. Still, it is among the top 30 Wikisources when ranked by total no. of pages in wiki. Second, Malayalam wikipedia has the 3rd largest depth among wikipedias that have at least 1000 articles. Considering the level of "activity" (including the level of vandalism — to prevent which I bug you folks in IRC), I feel Malayalam Wiki projects have been quite conservative in granting sysop status; wikisource is no exception. Wikisource doesn't need as many sysops as a wikipedia needs - due to lesser need for maintainance. Third we need an active bureaucrat.
Not to divert the focus of discussion, but just FYI, each of those voters with lesser contributions are active in ml.wikipedia. You may confirm their activity using SUL Tool. --Jacob 02:00, 1 November 2008 (UTC)

There is no rule on s:cs: that longer inactivity is a reason for removing the rights. There is no consensus for obligatory removal of the rights in this case nor in any general user's inactivity case. -jkb- did not consult this step on wiki with anybody.

I do not have to consult sonething when the user agrees with it. This is in the confirmation, and it is also the sense in the email I forwarded to stewards. Secondly, Danny_B., beside that you do not have to say anything on the domain acording to your contributions, some one year ago you requested desysop for somebody else on a Czech project, without beeing there a sysop, and without informed about this step the active bureaucrat. Thank You Kanonkas, I have seen that later today, however, the user should give the confirmation link himself, or he can even sign this if logged to a SUL-account, we do confirm users via centralAuth too, but searching for confirmation links ourselves usually not (even less in removals, in requests for permissions I help the user linking to the local site if I find that).

Hi. I'm Alison, aka w:en:User:Alison, sysop from gawiki and gawikti. There is currently no sysop over on gdwikti yet there's still a lot of work to do. Similar to gawikti which was dormant last year, I would dearly love to restart this wiktionary as a Scots Gaelic Wiktionary would be an immense asset to native speakers. There is still quite a lot of ongoing vandalism and cruft over there, especially over the last few weeks. Also, I've been updating Mediawiki over there before moving things to Betawiki when I've had them reviewed.

Hello, You can upload immediately at commons:, there only free licences are allowed, see commons:Commons:Licencing, the advance of uploading there is that all images there can be used in all wmf-projects, which would be other language Wikipedias or projects like Wiktionary, Wikisource, etc. also in Cree language.
For being able to switch the logo You need a developer to do this for You the first time, You can upload the logo at commons and then propose the logo to the community.
