Bot status requests

PereBot@eu-wikipedia

I'm going to add {{commonscat}} to article pages. I have done the same job in some thousands of articles in Catalan Wikipedia, where I have the bot flag. An updated version of my script is at eu:Lankide:PereBot/robot_commonskat.

Last week I made the proposal to the local community but I got no comments, although I've been doing some editions the bot without a bot flag, in order to test and tune the program and to get noticed by active users, in case objections were to be raised.

I'm not sure about if a bot flag is needed or if I'm allowed to perform this task without a bot flag, but since it is going to mean several thousands of edits, I suppose it will be better to have a bot flag to keep recent changes clean.

Later, I plan to do other similar tasks (for example, adding coordinates) in eu-wiki, as I've been doing in Catalan Wikipedia. I'd like to know if I need to apply for each different task or if the approval I'm asking now, if granted, allows me to perform other uncontroversial maintenance tasks.Pere prlpz (talk) 20:03, 28 August 2013 (UTC)

Have you already tried to contact the local bureaucrats about whether they want to give you a bot flag? --MF-W 02:32, 31 August 2013 (UTC)
None of them has been active in the last 2 months, and the wording in eu:Wikipedia:Bot-ak/Baimenak is self-contradictory about if bots are approved by bureaucrats or stewards. Anyway, I'll leave a message to the only bureaucrat with editions in 2013.--Pere prlpz (talk) 22:06, 1 September 2013 (UTC)
The crat you mention is both active and has processed bot requests, the most recent in January 2013. Therefore we aren't able to act. QuiteUnusual (talk) 14:05, 2 September 2013 (UTC)
OK. I'll wait until he comes back. Is there any rule about how long need to be away all bureaucrats to be considered inactive?--Pere prlpz (talk) 19:16, 2 September 2013 (UTC)
Seems to be inactive on all projects for two months. I have changed this to "on hold" and will email him / her. If I don't get a response in ~ a week I will process this request for you. Thanks QuiteUnusual (talk) 21:14, 2 September 2013 (UTC)
As if by magic your local bureaucrat has returned and processed this for you ;-) QuiteUnusual (talk) 21:34, 2 September 2013 (UTC)
Thank you. I'm going to start believing in magic.--Pere prlpz (talk) 23:26, 2 September 2013 (UTC)

MalafayaBot@nds.wiktionary

No standard request procedure at this wiki. Waiting until September 11. Malafaya (talk) 14:33, 4 September 2013 (UTC)

On hold until 11.09. Ruslik (talk) 17:46, 4 September 2013 (UTC)
Ping... :). Malafaya (talk) 09:28, 12 September 2013 (UTC)
Done, one support, no objections after a week so flag added. Thanks. QuiteUnusual (talk) 10:19, 12 September 2013 (UTC)

Dexbot@ckb.wikipedia

This bot is a global bot and has over 5,000,000 edits. It is also an adminbot on fa.wikipedia. Thank you.--Calak (talk) 09:36, 6 September 2013 (UTC)

Can you check this request? Thanks.--Calak (talk) 10:56, 12 September 2013 (UTC)

DerbethBot@pl-wikinews

I am a sysop at pl.wikinews, but we don't have an active bureaucrat on the project (see n:pl:Wikinews:Boty). I plan to use the bot to auto-generate some boilerplate pages we need: currently only pages and categories for each month. I use a custom Perl script using MediaWiki::Bot library. The bot made some test edits and they look fine. Derbeth (talk) 09:32, 2 September 2013 (UTC)

Have you started a discussion or request for community input? We're happy to act in place of the absent 'crats but would need some community consensus for the flag to be granted. Thanks. QuiteUnusual (talk) 14:03, 2 September 2013 (UTC)
Yes, I did, and I have some support. --Derbeth (talk) 19:25, 19 September 2013 (UTC)
I was hoping you would link to it! Done QuiteUnusual (talk) 10:16, 23 September 2013 (UTC)

Thanks, I've already actioned the request - I found the discussion myself despite my lack of Polish skills! QuiteUnusual (talk) 15:20, 26 September 2013 (UTC)

SouthparkfanBot@fywiki

On en:fy:Wikipedy:Oerlisside I've requested four days ago a bot status for my bot, SouthparkfanBot. However, three of the four bureaucrats are inactive and the other one doesn't respond on my request. Southparkfan 13:45, 17 September 2013 (UTC)

On hold until 20 September 2013. Ruslik (talk) 18:35, 17 September 2013 (UTC)
It was yesterday 20 September. Southparkfan 12:11, 21 September 2013 (UTC)
Have you asked Kening Aldgilles? Ruslik (talk) 12:32, 21 September 2013 (UTC)
I've notified the bureaucrat on his/her talk page. Southparkfan 13:13, 21 September 2013 (UTC)
If they do not answer in 3 days, I will give you the bot flag. Ruslik (talk) 18:32, 23 September 2013 (UTC)

Chobot@kowikisource

This bot was approved but not flagged. I assume ChongDae, bot owner, forgot requesting to Meta. Though his bot is Global bot, the work he want is moving categories. Thank you for helping. --Sotiale (talk) 12:27, 21 September 2013 (UTC)
