The WMF language team is reaching out to you based on your valuable contributions to the Lithuanian Wikipedia as an editor who frequently uses the Content Translation tool. We appreciate the great work you are doing in Lithuanian Wikipedia to increase content to ensure that knowledge is available in your Wikipedia and understand that it is annoying to encounter difficulties while translating articles or deleted content afterwards. Therefore, the WMF Language team will like to understand from your experience, the issues you encounter when using the tool to translate content.

Our observations
We noticed that the Content Translation tool is not used frequently and sometimes the articles created are deleted. We say this because, from our statistics, 6813 articles were added to Lithuanian Wikipedia in 2020; out of the above figure, only 67 of them were translated using the Content Translation tool and 67% (45 articles) were deleted. While the tool has been frequently used with low deletion ratios on many wikis, the deletion rate and the tool's low usage signals a problem or deficiencies peculiar to Lithuanian Wikipedia. As the Content Translation tool can increase content creation in your Wikipedia and is a proven excellent way to efficiently Introduce newcomers to adding content and expand on existing ones.

We appreciate the great work you are doing in Lithuanian Wikipedia to ensure standard and quality articles are not compromised. However, it is a big task to encounter content that is not standard daily, and a difficult decision to delete them because they fall below standard.

How we will see unregistered users

Hi!

You get this message because you are an admin on a Wikimedia wiki.

When someone edits a Wikimedia wiki without being logged in today, we show their IP address. As you may already know, we will not be able to do this in the future. This is a decision by the Wikimedia Foundation Legal department, because norms and regulations for privacy online have changed.

Instead of the IP we will show a masked identity. You as an admin will still be able to access the IP. There will also be a new user right for those who need to see the full IPs of unregistered users to fight vandalism, harassment and spam without being admins. Patrollers will also see part of the IP even without this user right. We are also working on better tools to help.

If you have not seen it before, you can read more on Meta. If you want to make sure you don’t miss technical changes on the Wikimedia wikis, you can subscribe to the weekly technical newsletter.

We have two suggested ways this identity could work. We would appreciate your feedback on which way you think would work best for you and your wiki, now and in the future. You can let us know on the talk page. You can write in your language. The suggestions were posted in October and we will decide after 17 January.

Dėl savaitės iniciatyvos trukmės

Sveiki. Norėjau pasiteirauti, kaip yra su savaitės iniciatyvos grafiku. Maniau, kad savaitės iniciatyva keičiama kartą į dvi savaites. Aš pats būčiau už tai, kad savaitės iniciatyvos, o ypač sėkmingesnės (t.y., sulaukiančios bent 10 naujų straipsnių) nebūtų keičiamos per dažnai. Žinoma, taisykles nustatote jūs. Mano argumentas toks, kad savaitės iniciatyvose nėra taip aktyviai dalyvaujama, kaip prieš kažkur dešimtį metų, tad geriau palikti tvarką keisti kas dvi savaites, nes, manau, kad dar būtų buvę, kas šią savaitę dabartinėje būtų sudalyvavę (ir ne tik aš). Beje, dėl pačios lentelės pastebėjimas, — Tarantinu kažkodėl pasivadino Naudotojas:Makenzis, jam priklauso vienas sukurtas straipsnis praeitą savaitę. --Viskonsas (aptarimas) 11:25, 7 vasario 2022 (EET)

@Viskonsas: Sveiki. Paskutinius penkis metus iniciatyva buvo keičiama kas savaitę, jei tik būdavo pakankamai naujų pasiūlymų. Tačiau pasiūlymas pratęsti aktyvią iniciatyvą dar savaitei visai logiškas. Taisykles nustatau ne aš, o bendruomenė, tad jūsų pasiūlymą pateiksiu balsavimui. @Nature xxx: Kiek žinau, lietuviškoje Vikipedijoje aiškiai apibrėžtos praktikos nėra. Angliškoje Vikipedijoje galite apie susijusius klausimus pasiskaityti straipsnyje en:Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons. Esu per menkai susipažinęs su en:GDPR bei en:Right to be forgotten, kad galėčiau spekuliuoti iš ES įstatyminės pusės. Laba diena. Prašau pagalbos. Niekaip negaliu prisijungti po to, kai buvo pakeistas lietuviškosios vikipedijos išorinis formatas:  atsidarius bet kokį lietuviškosios vikipedijos straipsnį viršuje atsirado naujas užrašas: "susikurkite paskyrą", bet paskirą AndriejūnasK, aš jau 1O metų kaip turiu! Iš kitos pusės, puslapį ji man atidaro, siūlo sukurti paskyrą, o pasiūlymo kur prisijungti nerandu.

Pabandžiau prisijungti per "Change credentials". Ten pasikeičiau slaptažodį iš *** į *** ir keletą kartų taip prisijungdavau. Po to, pagalvojau, kad gal mano kompjuteris, ar antivirusinė AVAST programa su savp programėlėmis tokiomis kaip AVAST ANTITRACK PREMIUM, kuri kaitalioja kompiuterio numerį, saugodama nuo įvairių reklamų, trukdo? Nors iš kitos pusės, iki šiol prisijungdavau be problemų su slaptažodiu ***. Be to, atlikau tos sistemos, "kai viskas vyko gerai" atstatymą. bet gal nuo to tik pablogėjo?. Be to bandžiau tai ankstesnį tai vėlesnį slaptažodžius. bet "Change credentals" paskyros nebeatstato.

Prašau padėkite man atstatyti paskyra būsiu dėkingas.

@Algirdas Gataveckas: nei Algirdas, nei Remigijus nieko nesakantys veikėjai. Jeigu dalyvauja rinkimuose ir panašiai, nori įgyvendinti seną svajonę būti meru, wikipedija tam ne vieta. Wikipedijoje galioja reikšmingumo kriterijai. Jeigu taps meru, tada, gal kažkas imsis kurti straipsnį. O kol kas nežinomas veikėjas. @Algirdas Gataveckas: Šiuo metu nelabai turiu laiko. Vis tik siūlyčiau pradėti rašyti savarankiškai (galite vadovautis Pagalba:Kaip kurti puslapius), pradžia galėtų būti juodraščio susikūrimas ir faktų sudėjimas, paskui galima judėti toliau. Tačiau jei vis tik pernelyg sudėtinga, siūlyčiau kreiptis į kitus Vikipedijos naudotojus, kurie aktyviai rašo straipsnius apie meną ir menininkus, pavyzdžiui, Naudotojas:BigHead. Need your input on a policy impacting gadgets and UserJS

Dear interface administrator,

This is Samuel from the Security team and I hope my message finds you well.

There is an ongoing discussion on a proposed policy governing the use of external resources in gadgets and UserJS. The proposed Third-party resources policy aims at making the UserJS and Gadgets landscape a bit safer by encouraging best practices around external resources. After an initial non-public conversation with a small number of interface admins and staff, we've launched a much larger, public consultation to get a wider pool of feedback for improving the policy proposal. Based on the ideas received so far, the proposed policy now includes some of the risks related to user scripts and gadgets loading third-party resources, best practices for gadgets and UserJS developers, and exemptions requirements such as code transparency and inspectability.

As an interface administrator, your feedback and suggestions are warmly welcome until July 17, 2023 on the policy talk page.
