The votes are in, and the men’s penultimate Standard Chartered Player of the Month is Luis Díaz. April was a good month for Díaz individually, even if it left a lot to be desired for the team as a whole.

April saw the Reds bomb out of the Europa League against Atalanta. They also lost to Everton and slid down the Premier League table. The good news is that they did manage to secure Champions League football for next season.

He played in eight games over the course of the month, making seven starts. He scored once in the draw against Manchester United.

”Thank you very much. I’m really happy and grateful to have received this award, which is so valuable to us players. I’m happy for the support of all the fans, knowing that they have been with me from the very moment I arrived until the last,” Díaz said.

“They have always been super-attentive and supportive, not only of me but also of the institution, the team and I am very grateful to God for helping the team in this way.”

There are two games left in the season for Díaz to add some more goals to the eight he’s already score in the Premier League this season.
