    Endoscopic endonasal optic nerve decompression (EEOND) is indicated in traumatic and endocrine orbitopathies as well as in idiopathic intracranial hypertension. We present a patient with bilateral nonspecific inflammatory orbitopathy (NSIO) and optic nerve compression presenting with acute severe visual loss. Bilateral orbital and optic nerve decompression was performed as an emergency procedure with a favorable ophthalmological result. EEOND is an effective and safe technique in acute orbitopathies and should be taken in consideration in atypical clinical settings causing severe acute visual loss.

    The aim of this study is to simulate and analyse, using the Finite Element Method (FEM), the biomechanical reactions that occur during dental displacements that are due to orthodontic treatments with fixed or removable appliances. A quantitative analysis of both dental displacements and the distribution of stress is done with the help of applying gradually increasing forces on the teeth with reduced periodontal support. This shall make possible that the phenomena pertaining to tissues, which are produced by orthodontic forces, could be anticipated.

    — In this paper the authors present a market strategy of a microgrid incorporating a virtual power plant. For exemplification, a configuration consisting of different types of distributed generators and a lumped load are considered. The aim of the virtual power plant is to maximize the profit by minimization of the total cost involved for electrical energy generation by the distributed generators that are part of the virtual power plant.
