Magoosh helped me go from 640 to 720!

I decided to go with Magoosh because I needed a low cost GMAT prep option (I had barely any money to spend on GMAT prep). I had tried self study for a few months with no discernible progress, so I knew it was time to take another route. I signed up for Magoosh premium after a friend suggested the program to me and I began my study using 2 of the three month study plans offered by Magoosh. I did a combo of the 'Version B: Math Focused' plan and the 'Version D: For Advanced Students' plan. The Advanced study plan called for use of the MGMAT complete set of strategy books and the OG 13, so I used those as well. Between these three resources, I spent a grand total of roughly $275 on my GMAT prep.

Overall, I found Magoosh to be an awesome investment. For $99, I got a full year's access to a whole tome of videos on all the subject matter covered by the GMAT, all the way down from the most basic frameworks up to the 700+ level concepts and strategies. For me this was priceless, since I came to my study very rusty on Quant and needed a refresher bootcamp type of prep. I was already very strong on Verbal, having previously taken the LSAT (basically GMAT Verbal on steriods), so I didn't use that part of the Magoosh offering too much.

In any case, to improve on Quant, I watched all of the math videos, per the Magoosh study plan, and was able to re-acquaint myself with these math concepts that I have not seen since high school. Magoosh was helpful for me personally as someone with a short attention span and a busy schedule because the videos are short and to the point. No long drawn out explanations; instead, the material is practical and concise. Just the way I need it. What is more, Magoosh has an iPad app. This allowed me to conveniently study on the go. No need to lug heavy books around all the time; I could just use my iPad on the train or whenever I had a quick moment (the other advantage of having short videos).

I must say, I spent a lot of time studying, usually about 4 hours per day for about 8 weeks, over 200 hours total. This was in part because I was using two study plans at once. It was a lot of work but it was what I needed to excel. Magoosh was great because, again, the material is super digestible, so I rarely felt lost (which was one of my concerns when deciding whether to do an online course--what if I have question or get lost, who will answer my concerns?) Even if I did get lost or fail to understand something, the Magoosh response team is AMAZING. They reply straight away, usually within a few hours of submitting a question and they answer in a way that really makes sense. Most of the time when I had a question, even if it was a complex inquiry, someone from the Magoosh team would respond in a way where I didn't need to do a lot of back and forth follow up to understand the response provided.

If you are like me, someone who does not have thousands to spend on GMAT prep, but who is motivated to achieve a 700+ score, I would definitely recommend the Magoosh offering. It is HIGHLY ECONOMICAL (1 year access for $99!!!) and user friendly. Simply put, it is well worth the investment.

I had finished up the OG13 and was looking for fresh questions. I had taken Magoosh GRE and found it pretty good so decided to go for Magoosh Premium (99 for both quanty and verbal). I think I'm happy with the content. I got a 750 on my GMAT and I can definitely attribute some of this sucess to the Magoosh software.
Magoosh QUANT- The quality of quant questions are pretty good. At one point I found myself addicted to
them. One area where I think Magoosh has an edge is the online platform to practice questions. The video lessons were excellent, especially the ones on Probability and Counting (permutation/combination). There are plenty of DS questions so people having trouble with DS questions should definitely benifit with this section. I finished all practice questions in Math.

Magoosh Verbal- Also good. The SC questions are especially of good quality and their video explanations are good too. I wont score their RC sections too high. I found a good number of their answers as arbitary, OG answers made sense and related to the paragraphs. But it could be because I lacked an understanding of the passages. I finished about 60% of the questions. I liked the fact that the SC questions specifically tackle some of the oftern tested concepts and idioms on GMAT.

Video solutions for the win!

Prior to signing up for Magoosh, I had taken the GMAT twice before and done respectably, 710 and 690. However, with a quantitative background and seeking admission to top 10 programs, I recognized that my quant sub-score needed help (only a 44 both times) to achieve the "80%" threshold. This is where Magoosh came in. I was struggling to understand the shortcuts and precise methodologies required for these quirky GMAT problems and the breadth of video solutions was something I didnt find in any other programs and is what truly put me over the edge. While I didn't improve my overall score too drastically, I did improve my quant sub-score to a 49 and the critical 81%. Thanks for the help, Magoosh!

Magoosh offers a great product at an affordable price. I knew virtually nothing about the GMAT or the GMAT material, and Magoosh's helpful videos showed me everything. Here is what I really liked about Magoosh:

Visual Dashboard:
This dashboard helped me really keep track of my progress, and allowed me to see all tools at once. Even though the dashboard is a small part of the Magoosh product, to me it was vitally important.

Video Tutorials:
Because I have not been in school for awhile, I really struggled with a lot of the GMAT material. However, Magoosh has extremely helpful videos that walk you through the test, testing strategies, sections, concepts, and practice questions. The tutorials were very short (allowing me to focus on what I needed and also feel like I was "progressing" quickly by watching six 5-minute videos, as opposed to one 30-minute video), and also very comfortable to listen to.

Question Bank:
Magoosh has A LOT of questions (over a 1,000) and they all have a written explanation and video explanation. This was critical in my learning HOW to solve questions. They also offer many different ways to practice, even simulating the "adaptive" nature of the GMAT (as you get questions correct, harder questions get asked).

Customer Service:
This was what made this company. I got great customer service, before and after my test. They offer a lot of great deals, and even send a friendly email right before the exam to encourage/help you.

Overall, I truly believe I couldn't achieve my 710 without Magoosh!

I signed up for Magoosh since the price was right (relative to some books, which can end up being quite pricey). I ended up using it almost exclusively for the Quant section since I studied English in undergrad.

The quant practice is great, and I believe it helped me a lot more than the books for a couple reasons. First, you can set the questions to either adapt to your progress or to stay constant. I mostly stuck on either Hard or Very Hard since I didn't want to risk dropping down to some Medium questions, but others may find that adaptive practice is useful for them. Also, you can either review questions after each answer or do the questions in bunches (sorted by time, or by number of problems you want to do). Pretty useful.

I think the Quant questions have real quality. They were very similar to the ones I got on the actual GMAT in regards to how they were worded. That's good, compared to say the Manhattan GMAT, which has great practice tests but the quant wording is a bit over the top (makes you try harder, I guess, but not as close to the real thing as, for example, Magoosh).

There are also video explanations for each problem (which is nice, but after the first few dozen problems I would just glance over the written solutions and 'get' it). And then each problem links to a "related lesson" video, which is mostly how I went through the lesson concepts.

I didn't watch too many Verbal videos or use it much for practice. I will say, though, that their general strategy videos for each question type are useful (for example, how to approach sentence correction really helped).

Increased 12 points in Quant

First time I sat for the GMAT I scored 590 (35-35 split). While I did use a variety of sources during my prep, I credit Magoosh with the increase in quant. I felt pretty confident with the verbal all the time, so I didn't spend too much time on it; but it was clear for me that I was not even near the score I wanted in Math. I liked Magoosh not only because of the amount of tricks offered to help you conquer the timing constraints, but also for the variety of ways to attack the questions bank: You can select your questions based on the degree of difficulty, the area tested, you can go back and retry the incorrect ones, you can write notes, you can flag for review, etc. I ended up scoring a 710 on my second GMAT (47 quant, 41 verbal), more than I actually scored in the mock tests.

I took the GMAT for the first time two months ago, after studying for 2 months with local teachers and scored 640 (Q41, V38). I knew I needed to focus in improving my Quantitative section and started researching for online tools, since I thought I was lacking exam-like practice.

I used Magoosh mainly for its Quantitative section (did some Integrated Reasoning practice and checked the AWA videos as well).

I think one of its most important strengths is its Quantitative prractice section. The questions are just like what you will face during the test. This helped me become disciplined in the use of time (this was a problem during my first GMAT attempt).

The videos are excellent and really helped me understand the errors I had made and to become familiar with concepts. I think another advantage of the course is that the lessons focus in what is tested.

After using Magoosh for 1 month I took the exam again and scored 740 (Q48, V44). I think these were the best $100 I have spent.

Great set of video explanations and lessons for each topic both in verbal and quant. The explanations are clear and to the point. I was able to do timed sets with adaptive difficulty similar to the real GMAT. For advance test takers, they have a number of high level questions, which will challenge your understanding. Each question is complemented with its explanations and related subject video to bridge the gap in the knowledge. Total they have over 600 questions of varying difficulty complemented with video and written explanations. Their support team is very helpful and the instructors reply to your query within 24 hours only.

Really gained a lot from it and highly recommend Magoosh.

I was very unsure of what online course to sign up with for my first stab at the GMAT. Working full time and with less than 4 weeks to go, I signed up with Magoosh after trying a few of the free lessons. I was very pleasantly surprised at how organized each and every lesson was. The User Interface on the site was excellent and there were plenty of practice problems with thorough explanations that helped me learn and fix my mistakes my difficulty level of the question.

Their iphone app was helpful for me to listen to while i was commuting to work - obviously this worked better for verbal study than for the quant study where you need to focus on the content on screen.

Using just Magoosh to learn the concepts from scratch, practicing Magoosh problems and the OG13, and finally using some Manhattan GMAT practice tests, I scored a 680 on my first official GMAT. I took the test again later with some tweaks in my study methodology and hit my 700. I'll be starting at Kellogg in the fall.

Thanks Magoosh for creating a great system to beat the gmat!

Magoosh helped me cross 700 in my 5th attempt

I had given GMAT 4 times, scoring 650, and my preparation was at a phase in which I have exhausted pretty much all the official & other reliable materials available in the market. I have tried a couple of video websites such as e-gmat, gmatpill and grockit which were of no use either. Then, I came across Magoosh and decided to try it for 7 days since I had nothing to lose in this deal (Magoosh offers 7 day no questions return policy).

Magoosh is pretty straight forward and deeply honest test prep company. It allows a student to practice all of its content (400 Verbal and almost 450+ Quant questions) in the test mode (75 minutes for each section with 37 and 41 questions in the jumbled manner). That was the best part of this content. I used to do 2 Full length tests from Magoosh in a row and that strengthened my mental muscles for this test. I no longer felt fatigue during the Verbal section and I knew if I can do 2 in a row at home, I can easily do 1 on the test day.

Magoosh's video explanation's are short and specific, which is good for someone studying for a while and does not waste time in rambling unimportant things, unlike most of the other test prep companies. I thank Magoosh for offering their content at such an affordable price and a 7-day money back guarantee if one doesn't like their product. Though, its highly unlikely that you will need to ask for this guarantee but it just shows that these guys don't want to run away with your money. They are genuinely interested in helping you for the GMAT.

Try Magoosh and you will fall in love with the voice of gentleman who takes SC and CR video explanations. As a teacher, he has the best voice I have ever heard of.
