Choosing Between Purdue mBT and Babson MBA - Need Advice
Hi everyone,
I'm from Taiwan and have over five years of work experience in my home country. My background includes a degree in Fashion Design, roles as a Marketing Specialist at Taiwan's largest department store, and work with an Apple Premium Reseller (APR). Additionally, I've run a small business selling second-hand luxury items online on Shopee.
Despite my diverse experiences, my business knowledge is self-taught, which was a challenge when I noticed a lack of strategic direction at the APR startup where I worked. This experience inspired me to pursue formal business education so I can implement structured, strategic approaches rather than relying on intuition.
My career goal: To establish a second-hand fashion brand that combines online and physical stores. I prefer working behind the scenes, as direct customer interaction, especially with rude customers, is not my preference.
Here are my options:
Purdue University’s Master of Business and Technology (MBT):
Duration: 1 year
Scholarship: $9,000
Pros: Cost-effective, brand new program launching this year.
Cons: New program without a track record.
Babson College Full-Time MBA:
Duration: 2 years
Scholarship: $30,000
Pros: Located in Boston, which is a vibrant, entrepreneurial city with diverse course offerings.
Cons: Uncertain recognition in Asia, which is where I plan to ultimately return.
As someone who has never studied or lived abroad, I'm seeking advice on which program might better suit my goals, especially considering my eventual return to Asia.
Thank you in advance for your insights!

cloudyBoss (Australian tech-startup): 3 months contract (Jan 22-April 22)
Wipro: 18 months (Oct 19- April 21)
Note: 1. I have several months of gap period while I transitioned to another job. I utilized the gap-period time in job search and improving physical fitness.
Extra-Curriculars:
In school, I was an NCC Cadet in Indian Army for two years and was awarded NCC B certificate. Also represented my school at a quiz competition and got 2nd rank and certificate of recognition.
In college, I participated in various tech and non tech-competitions won medals and certificates of recognition three times. Besides these, I was also associated with an Voluntary Youth Forum and represented my college there. During holidays and summers, I visited many places in different states and actively participated in several programs organized by the forum, served as a volunteer in Youth-fests organized by the forum. Also received certificate of recognition from them. (The youth forum helped thousands of students in fighting depression, suicidal tendencies, intoxicant addictions and imparted Ancient Vedic knowledge helping them in becoming better individuals.)
Also, I am a good at running and can run for 4-5km non-stop. I am also good at e-sports and currently at town hall level 13 at Clash of Clans.
Post-MBA:
I am good at quant so, I am looking forward for a career in Finance especially, Investment Banking and my second option would be consulting; considering my previous involvement with the youth forum.
I would be preparing well and targeting a GMAT score of 750+.

I have spent around 4 years working at Bain Capability Network, having graduated from Lady Shri Ram College for Women, Delhi University in 2020. Post MBA, I’m looking to work at a consulting firm in the short term, and eventually would like to start my own venture in the sustainability space.
At Bain Capability Network, I have worked with international stakeholders (US, Europe, SE Asia) and currently report to a senior stakeholder based in America. Additionally, I have actively participated in extracurricular activities at work and during my undergrad years, holding multiple positions of responsibility.
INSEAD is my dream college, both for the geography as well as the mission and values of the school. I am open to applying for the Jan 2026 /Aug 2025 intake (though I would prefer January for the internships). I understand that lack of international exposure might be a hindrance. Kindly evaluate my profile and let me know where I stand!

Almost 3 years into the finance industry now I think is the right time for me to go for my MBA. I currently work in Investment Banking where I am assisting the global bankers and I believe the MBA with its diverse curriculum will work perfect in a sequence with the technical, theoretical knowledge I have gathered as well as my people skills to enhance myself to emerge as a more complete professional and transition into a front end Investment Banking profile with a long term goal to establish my own practice in M&A and Transaction Advisory in the near future with a regional target of being in the UK, US and EU.

I have worked as a Salesforce developer in a Big Four Firm for 4 year in ERI and Health Care and Life sciences based project. All the projects I have worked on are large scale projects and have been published on various journals. I don't have managerial experience as I am a technical architect but I do have 3 team members reporting to me. I have been a part of few clubs during my undergrad but it is based on social impact. At work, I have volunteered for conducting procreational games and been part of Women Summit. I have also been part of core team for conducting events at office level. In my 3.5 years, I have received 5 awards. My short term goal is slide into a product managerial role and my long term goal is to continue working at consulting in a leadership position.
My primary target is US and I'll be applying to a few schools in Asia and Europe. I am Engineering Graduate specialized in Electronics and communication Engineering from a tier 1 college in India (Not IITs/NITs but a private deemed university)
