Unmistakable

Do you know for absolute certain that it won't be released? I know it seems unlikely with the failure of singles and all... but has there been any confirmation of this? I'd like to know, as I've been hoping for this album for awhile now. : / CloversMallRat (talk) 20:38, 15 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Well I hope that the next new album does well, because Curb sucks and needs to start trying harder. But this means that the song "Unmistakable" won't be released then, and I loved that song! =( ... Anyways, do you have a link to this interview or anything? I'd like to read it CloversMallRat (talk) 23:06, 15 July 2009 (UTC)Reply
Then how do I know that what you say is true? Its not that I don't doubt you, but I kinda need something of a reference... in the form of putting it on her Wikipedia page at the very least to back up that she is working on another album and Unmistakable has been scrapped. No B-sides?

I agree that the last editor was completely inappropriate with the personal attack. However, that person is correct in that there is not only no rule that there can't be B-sides shown, but also that there should be if they are known. Why would anyone want to exclude any accurate facts that someone went to a lot of effort to compile and share?...This is an encyclopedia and the more facts the better. Please do not remove accurate, interesting and informative facts that do not hurt anyone.(Cindy10000 (talk) 01:06, 22 July 2009 (UTC)).Reply

I'm sorry Dottiewest1fan, with all respect, I do not understand. I don't find the B-side additions overwhelming in the least. They are informative. They are not required, but they are desirable. Your comment that we're only concerned with the releases, NOT the songs... What does that mean? The releases are of songs aren't they? You can't have releases without songs. The dictionary definition of discography is: "a selective or complete list of phonograph recordings, typically of one composer, performer, or conductor." B-sides are phonograph recordings and are part of a complete list. The Wikipedia proposed guideline on this issue is not firm policy and the guideline is open to revision. And, yes, compiling all the B-side information took a lot of effort. I did it at the same time that I made corrections and additions to the albums and A-sides already listed. No one seemed to notice the errors that were there, so I find it ironic that additional accurate information would be objectionable.

(Cindy10000 (talk) 06:31, 22 July 2009 (UTC)).Reply

I agree with responses above. The guidelines are just that. They are not law. Why are you so adamant about removing good information for no useful purpose??? Wikipedia agrees that rules are meant to be challenged with good reason. There is very good reason here.(65.122.202.206 (talk) 19:41, 22 July 2009 (UTC)).Reply

Please accept my appology for the copy and paste of your last comment... I'm learning and still don't navigate the communication thing very well... I find it difficult to follow a discussion that is only showing one-sided and so thought I was helping... I'm sorry and won't make that mistake again... I would ask for the same consideration that you stated about having discussions before making such major changes... This issue is being debated and I am certainly not the only one that believes that b-sides are relevant and desirable.. I am also very open to different formats if that helps at all.(Cindy10000 (talk) 22:30, 22 July 2009 (UTC)).Reply

More Reba

I slapped a couple unsourced comments with {{fact}} tags and added a couple more sources. Also, I don't think My Kind of Country is a reliable source, as it's a Wordpress blog (compared to Country Universe, which has its own domain names, and I'm pretty sure Leeann Ward used to write for Country Weekly). • Another thing that's mostly cosmetic: I'd get rid of the citations in the lead, since the lead is just supposed to summarize the major points which should be cited later in the article anyway. Also, do you think there's any way that we can make it clearer that Pake and Susie have their own singing careers? Whitney Houston

Im afraid you are mistaken, if you take a look at the album One Wish: The Holiday Album the page is written as a studio album, Billboard (the official US chart provider) even calls it a studio album as does All Music which is one of the most credible music review sites. As per wikipedia rules you cannot simply make a change such as removing One Wish as a studio album when it is credibly sourced without discussing it first. Artists can release christmas themed-albums and that is what whitney did, A christmas themed studio album. (Lil-unique1 (talk) 01:51, 19 September 2009 (UTC))Reply

Calm, i am willing to open discussion about this. I am in no way suggesting that you are trying to self-fulfill some sort of desire with your edits. I am merely saying that this is a highly contested issue. Billboard has also listed one-wish as a studio album. Unless there are more than two credible sources which say otherwise accoring to wikipedia rules the most factual information would be to leave one wish as a studio album. Holiday Album in itself is not really a type of album. (Lil-unique1 (talk) 01:57, 19 September 2009 (UTC))Reply
Thats your personal opinion regarding billboard and all music. and if you look at Janet Jackson discography or Madonna albums discography you'd see that the editing style your proposing is not the norm. (Lil-unique1 (talk) 02:06, 19 September 2009 (UTC))Reply
Look im sorry i was tired (i dont know where u are but im editing in the uk and its 3.25am) and in truth i have to admit your changes do make the page look better. If you wish to change the format go ahead. However im still not happy regarding the whole is it or isnt it a studio album. If your willing to i would like to open a discussion tomorrow about the issue and we can get some neutral opinions regarding the issue. Then we can resolve it properly with a consensus. agreed? 19/20 Sept

Hi there, i have to say your work so far on whitney's discography is excellent. However i do have one question, why have you included Adult Contemporary songs? this is a component chart and should not be included on discographies nor on album or single pages. Furthermore when she is an R&B artist is it not going a step too far to include the hot club dance play (US Dance) chart? it almost appears that the US is being given an over emphasis.(Lil-unique1 (talk) 03:01, 20 September 2009 (UTC))Reply

Marion Worth and Martha Carson

Tina Turner

It is one thing to object to something, it is another to leave an authoritative sounding post "scolding" a long term editor implying that rules have been broken. Please try a little niceness. Someone posted that awards table to the main Tina Turner article - a good article - with no indication that doing so was problematic for the status of the article. There was no link in the main article to any awards page and the table was too small to warrant a separate page. A nice note about it will go much further than a tersely worded admonishment. Linda Ronstadt

Thank you for your message. I have been a Linda Ronstadt fan for many years, and while I agree that it is a little over the top, I basically agree with the section that you marked. (For instance, this sentence from the article is mine: "Even at this early stage, Ronstadt was already showcasing her highly expressive performance of an eclectic mix of songs, often from under-appreciated songwriters, requiring a wide array of backing musicians"). I think that any number of articles about Linda Ronstadt could be located that would basically say the same thing; I know that I have read the same basic sentiments several times myself. (Apparently it is okay to go non-NPOV and fan-gush if you can quote an "expert", like a rock critic that agrees with you – one of many ways that Wikipedia does business that puzzles me). I have been fussed at myself for changing a major article without going to talk first. Just the other day, I put a post on the Predator film page that the featured cast has two future governors (Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jesse Ventura), which I thought was remarkable and almost certainly unique among Hollywood films – and it was immediately reverted because that didn't have anything to do with the film. I just let it go these days and stay on the sidelines from these kinds of disputes: There are too many strong opinions out there, and some of the things being said stung. My contribution to Ronstadt was to split out Stone Poneys into a long separate article, and also put in some stuff on their three albums. Shocking Blue (talk) 09:58, 15 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Other appearances

The boxes are for selections released through other compilations, in no way does it say that a song can only be released on one album for it to count. All recordings by an artist should be noted in that box. The argument of length is dry, especially considering that you're insisting on deletion of a single entry. Miranda's future other appearances will include all releases of her material, and there should be quite a bit in the future now that she has become a more established artist - ie: Now Thats What I Call Country collections. Anyways, hope you understand. CloversMallRat (talk) 04:06, 31 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

That doesn't mean they can't be there either, because they aren't on a particular discography. And when did this "come to realization"? It sounds to me like you're trying to fabricate a certain belief as something of a standard here, but other than your claims I see nothing else to back it up. In fact, I've seen well-established editors here add to many of my personal favorite country artists' discographies, the kinds of songs from Country Hits collections that you seem to be against. CloversMallRat (talk) 16:26, 31 December 2009 (UTC)Reply
No, I did look at the discography page, and there's nothing that suggests its of a higher status simply because it doesn't have some of their songs on country hits compilations. Your attitude is a real turnoff, I'd just like to let you know, you do yourself no real favors. Other appearances is just that, appearances on albums that are not the artists own - it doesn't mean the "other" appearances have to be songs that aren't on their albums, it documents all the different albums its on. Additionally, length is not a factor, so there's no need to worry about whether or not Miranda has an extra dang song on her box or not. CloversMallRat (talk) 17:15, 31 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Looks good. Might need a tiny bit of copy editing but the sources and everything else look fine. Ten Pound Hammer, his otters and a clue-bat • (Many ottersOne batOne hammer) 19:13, 17 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

All of her charted singles are there. I moved one single that actually charted as a B-side. Eric444 (talk) 10:10, 22 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

Oh, the discography one. I have seen it. Personally I think that format's ugly as sin, but if it's what Wikipedia wants I can go with it. Ten Pound Hammer, his otters and a clue-bat • (Otters want attention) 03:40, 5 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Reba Singles"

What is the point of having a long table of her singles filled with in the canadian country columnn. Can you find a reference for reba charting any songs in canada after 2001...no you dont. It took me a long time to split the tables and fix them up and find the right references. So, i wud appreciate it if you leave the tables split, thank you.

Ok thanks for acting like I couldn't tell it wasn't you signing here, I knew it was you. And whatever, I never go on this website anymore. I have college to worry about. Go be immature elsewhere. ChrisTofu11961 (talk) 04:51, 18 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

Reba discography

Wonderful job with Reba's singles. I was debating on doing the same thing myself. EnDaLeCoMpLeX (contributions) • (let's chat) 01:23, 13 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Wow, we've got like twin telepathy going on lol. How the singles were before was a bit...odd. This way is much better in both looks and in editing. The thing I'm most glad about is it gets rid of the yucky Canadian country charts. Which they were gone with the other version, but still, this way is better. Yes it would now that I think about. Especially George Jones's, too. His albums list seems to go on for an eternity. EnDaLeCoMpLeX (contributions) • (let's chat) 01:55, 13 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for uploading File:Dottie West-New Horizons 2.jpg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.
