DescriptionCanadian National diesels southbound on the Norfolk Southern near Polaris Mall in Columbus, Ohio (2092116881).jpg

Two Canadian National diesels pull a southbound freight train on the Norfolk-Southern railroad. It is a nice change from the drab, black diesels that NS runs. My father used to watch PRR J-class steam locomotives work this line. The Columbus helper engine would cut off at Lewis Center and return to the Columbus yards to assist the next coal drag headed for the docks at Sandusky.
Nowadays, when you see boxcars on this line you are almost certainly dealing with auto parts.
I was standing on top of the Polaris Parkway Bridge near the Polaris Mall (State Rt. 740), facing north into a biting wind on a chilly Saturday morning.
