Hello, I'm GiantSnowman. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Alessandro Del Piero, but you didn't provide a reliable source. I’ve removed it for now, but if you’d like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. GiantSnowman 11:16, 5 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Mr.Matt.p,

It seems to me that an article you worked on, Evasive Action (1998 film), may be copied from http://flickfacts.com/movie/12371/Evasive%20Action. It's entirely possible that I made a mistake, but I wanted to let you know because Wikipedia is strict about copying from other sites.

It's important that you edit the article and rewrite it in your own words, unless you're absolutely certain nothing in it is copied. If you're not sure how to fix the problem or have any questions, there are people at the help desk who are happy to assist you.

Thank you for helping build a free encyclopedia! MadmanBot (talk) 23:22, 2 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Luis Suárez, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Chelsea (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Goal United may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "{}"s. If you have, don't worry, just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

Thanks, BracketBot (talk) 02:24, 28 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Goal United requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), web content or organised event, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. Woodroar (talk) 02:57, 28 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Notability

[edit]

Hi, Mr.Matt.p, I wanted to respond to your comments at Talk:Goal United. We have notability requirements for articles, both general and specific for web content, requiring that articles be based on multiple reliable, independent published sources. If you feel that such sources exist, you can certainly work on an article in your user space or through our formal Articles for Creation process until the article is ready to be moved to "main space", meaning the encyclopedia itself. As for Online Football Manager, it is immune to our speedy deletion process because it makes claims about its importance, albeit claims that aren't backed up by reliable sources. I'll take a closer look and see if it meets our requirements. If you have any questions, feel free to let me know. Cheers! Woodroar (talk) 03:55, 28 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

All the information was coming from the website itself and was to be backed up by print screens of the relevant pages on the site. Matt Price 11:23, 28 May 2013 (UTC)

To be perfectly frank, that won't cut it. We're not here to report what you or I have discovered or think is true, we're here to report what's notable and verifiable in reliable, independent published sources. Something warrants an article only if it has been the subject of those sources. (In short, the fact that something exists doesn't mean it qualifies for inclusion in the encyclopedia.) In the case of a game, that means coverage by legitimate game journalists, reviews by high-profile game magazines or websites, and so on. You may want to check out Wikipedia:WikiProject Video games/Sources for more information about the sources we're looking for. Again, if you have any questions, let me know. Cheers! Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
