Heather (Anish) Anderson is an American thru-hiker and author.

Anderson's first book, Thirst: 2600 Miles To Home, was published in 2019.[1]

Hiking accomplishments[edit]

Anderson is most noted for her record-breaking long distance times. In 2013, she broke the record for the fastest known time on the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT), completing the 2,655 mile hike in 60 days and becoming the first woman to hold the overall record.[2] She also holds the women's fastest known self-supported time for the route.[3] Anderson was the first woman to complete the Triple Crown in one calendar year by walking the Appalachian Trail, the PCT and the Continental Divide Trail between March and November 2018.[4]

In 2019, Anderson was named National Geographic Adventurer of the Year.[5]
