  • I did some research. The picture might be quite close to the natural colors but such a view can sometimes be obtained by layering the different ionized elements separately and i'm not sure if some kind of channel filters have been used here. Anyway, this is how it usually goes: red = hydrogen + sulfur, green = oxygen and blue = oxygen + hydrogen. Correct me if i'm wrong... --Ximonic (talk) 22:12, 19 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
AFAICT, and comparing it to other imagery of this object, these are the natural colors, or at least close to it. There are filters involved, but no false colors. Kleuske (talk)
