English: Voorne-Putten is an island between the North Sea, the Brielse meer and the rivers Oude Maas, Spui and Haringvliet in the province of South Holland in the Netherlands. Voorne-Putten consists of the two former islands Voorne (the larger, western part) and Putten (the smaller, eastern part). It used to be separated by the river Bernisse which silted up and made the two islands one. It has 160,000 inhabitants (2008). Recently the riverbed has been dredged, and the two islands have been reformed.
Nederlands: Voorne-Putten beslaat een gebied in de provincie Zuid-Holland tussen het Haringvliet, het Spui, de Oude Maas en het Brielse Meer, direct ten zuiden van het haven- en industriegebied van de Rijnmond. Het bestaat uit de voormalige eilanden Voorne en Putten. Deze waren ten gevolge van de verzanding van de Bernisse aan elkaar gegroeid en vervolgens door middel van bruggen, tunnels en dammen met de rest van de provincie verbonden. De Bernisse is enige tijd geleden uitgebaggerd. Er liggen vijf gemeenten op het eiland met in totaal ruim 170.000 inwoners (2008). Vanwege de sterke economische band met Rotterdam en het Rotterdamse havengebied, behoort Voorne-Putten tot de Stadsregio Rotterdam.
