Vox Media editorial properties Eater (Stephanie Wu, editor-in-chief), New York (David Haskell, editor-in-chief), Polygon (Chris Plante, editor-in-chief), and The Verge (Nilay Patel, editor-in-chief) were today nominated for twelve National Magazine Awards from the American Society of Magazine Editors (ASME), recognizing work in written journalism, photography, design, illustration, and video. Eater and New York were nominated for General Excellence in their respective categories, and it is New York’s ninth consecutive nomination in General Excellence. New York is tied for the most nominations of any publication, with eight.
Additionally, Vulture staff writer Rebecca Alter and New York photo editor Isabela Quintero won two of the five ASME Next Awards, honoring outstanding work by magazine journalists under 30, and Eater, New York, and The Verge each were finalists for ASME Awards for Design, Photography & Illustration. Winners of the National Magazine Awards will be announced on April 2.
