Recruiting Roundup: Husky Coaches Hit The Road Recruiting

NCAA Football: Pac-12 Championship-Oregon at Washington Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

Happy Mothers day to all the moms out there. I hope everyone gets a chance to spend some time with the moms in their life and celebrate them.

Recruiting has been a whirlwind lately with portal additions and a huge weekend of visitors on campus last weekend for the spring game. Now that spring practices have concluded Husky coaches have hit the road recruiting this week to check out some of the top underclassmen and some of their top targets in the 2025 class.

So far there has been a ton of new 2026 & 2027 offers that have went out to prospects in California, Nevada, and Washington. Some of the more notable visits/offers out to recruits were:

Offensive line coach Brennan Carroll checked on 4 star offensive tackle Darius Afalava from Skyridge HS, UT. Afalava, who is rated as the 27th best interior offensive lineman in the 2025 class has been one of the top targets on the offensive line for the Husky staff. The Huskies are battling UCLA, Michigan State, Utah, and Oklahoma for his commitment and will host him on the 21st of June.

In the class of 2026 the Huskies re-offered 5 star quarterback Ryder Lyons from Folsom HS, CA. Folsom has been a hot bed of talent and the Husky program has gotten a lot of talent from the school including Jake Browning. Lyons is rated as the #2 QB in the country in the 2026 class and holds offers from most major programs in the country. The state of California is loaded in the 2026 class with QB’s and the Huskies would lobe to add Lyons or fellow signal caller Brady Smigiel from Newbury Park HS, CA.

On Monday most of the Husky staff turned up to Bethel HS to check on the top player of WA: Zaydrius Rainey- Sale. Rainey-Sale is rated as the 15th best linebacker in the 2026 class and has visits set to ASU, Florida State, UCLA, and UW. The Huskies would love to add Rainey-Sale back to the 2026 class and are very much in the mix to land his commitment.

For the next couple of weeks the Husky staff will continue to be on the road recruiting until the end of May when they are set to host 14 official visitors the last weekend in May. That is all for today and as always follow me @asieverkropp.
