Vikram Bisht from Imagine Web Solutions presented on search engine optimization (SEO). He discussed what search engines are and how they work by crawling websites and indexing content. He explained why SEO is important for getting website traffic and conversions. Bisht covered key SEO topics like on-page and off-page ranking factors, developing an SEO strategy, and basic optimization tips. The presentation provided an overview of conducting SEO for websites.
Search engines work by using web crawlers to retrieve web pages, analyze their contents, index important information, and provide search results in response to user queries. The first search engine was Archie, created in 1990, while Google rose to prominence around 2000 using its innovative PageRank algorithm. Today's major search engines like Google, Yahoo, and Bing use complex algorithms and techniques like web crawlers, boolean operators, proximity searching and natural language queries to efficiently index the web and return relevant results. They generate revenue through advertising shown alongside search results.
SharePoint Lists and Libraries Configurationamitmathur31
A link list can be created in SharePoint to share web page links. To create a link list, go to site settings and click "Links" under the tracking heading to define the name and description. Common actions that can be performed on lists include adding, removing, and modifying list items through the web interface, object model, or web services. A document library is a type of list that can store documents and allow searches within the documents. To create a document library, click "Site Actions" and select "Create" then choose the document library link to provide a name and description.
Many people don't know what is seo and what are its advantages. This PPT will make one aware of search engine optimization (seo) and how one will profit from an seo technique.
Google began in 1996 as a research project by Larry Page and Sergey Brin. It uses PageRank, an algorithm that assigns websites a numerical weight based on the number and quality of links to it, to index websites and determine search results. When a user searches on Google, it examines its index of websites and returns the most relevant results based on the user's search terms and PageRank. Google crawls the web with its bots to constantly update and improve its index of websites to provide the most useful search results to users.
Ensuring your site is properly indexed and ranks well for keywords is a practice that changes constantly. Search engines continue to adjust algorithms to ensure the right content is presented - here are three pillars of search engine optimization that will help you ensure your content is indexed, ranked, and ultimately clicked on.
A search engine is designed to search for information on the World Wide Web by using a spider to index web pages and store them in a database. The search engine then uses algorithms to find matching documents for search queries and displays results according to relevance. SEO, or search engine optimization, is the process of improving the visibility of a website in un-paid search engine results. It involves on-page and off-page optimization techniques to increase search engine rankings and attract relevant traffic. Common metrics for measuring SEO success include increased keyword rankings, website traffic, and revenue.
This document provides an overview of search engine optimization (SEO) including:
- Defining SEO as the process of improving website visibility in organic search results.
- Describing how search engines work by crawling, indexing, processing queries, and retrieving results.
- Explaining the difference between on-page SEO which involves optimizing individual pages, and off-page SEO which focuses on links and relationships between sites.
- Noting the importance of both technical elements like keywords and meta tags as well as content and links to effectively optimize a site.
Search engine optimization - SEO is the process of improving the volume or quality of traffic to your web site from search engines such as Google, Yahoo, MSN etc. via "organic" or un-paid search results.

Search engines are databases that contain references to thousands of web pages and help users locate information on the web. They use software components like web crawlers to index web pages and a search interface to return relevant results. The search engine looks up keywords in its index rather than searching the live web. It uses software to search the index and returns relevant pages with snippets. The results are ranked based on factors like keyword frequency and link analysis. Advanced search options allow refining results through Boolean operators and other criteria.
The document discusses the inner workings of the Google search engine. It begins with facts about Google's founding and history. It then explains the basic components of how any search engine works, including web crawlers that index pages, and how keywords are matched to search results. The bulk of the document focuses on Google's specific architecture, including its web crawler called Googlebot, its indexer that catalogs words in a database, and its query processor that matches searches to relevant pages based on factors like PageRank. It also discusses related topics like search engine optimization techniques and using "Google digging" to refine searches.

How search engines work
- Early search engines ranked pages primarily based on on-page content, which allowed results to be easily manipulated.
- Google launched in 1998 with an innovative PageRank algorithm that analyzed the link structure of websites to determine importance.
- Modern search engines continuously crawl and index billions of webpages, storing relevant information across vast data centers to quickly return search results based on relevance and importance across hundreds of ranking signals.

The goal of SEO is to improve a website's visibility and rankings in search engines.
1) Google provides many advanced search features beyond basic keyword searches, including tools for unit conversions, weather lookups, package tracking, stock prices, and more.
2) Some techniques include using special search operators like filetype, site, and - to exclude results, and using quotes for exact phrase matching.
3) Google's search algorithms aim to provide the most relevant results first based on factors like keywords in the page title, incoming links, and text on the page.

Are you interested in dipping your toes in the cloud native observability waters, but as an engineer you are not sure where to get started with tracing problems through your microservices and application landscapes on Kubernetes? Then this is the session for you, where we take you on your first steps in an active open-source project that offers a buffet of languages, challenges, and opportunities for getting started with telemetry data.
The project is called openTelemetry, but before diving into the specifics, we’ll start with de-mystifying key concepts and terms such as observability, telemetry, instrumentation, cardinality, percentile to lay a foundation. After understanding the nuts and bolts of observability and distributed traces, we’ll explore the openTelemetry community; its Special Interest Groups (SIGs), repositories, and how to become not only an end-user, but possibly a contributor. We will wrap up with an overview of the components in this project, such as the Collector, the OpenTelemetry protocol (OTLP), its APIs, and its SDKs.
Attendees will leave with an understanding of key observability concepts, become grounded in distributed tracing terminology, be aware of the components of openTelemetry, and know how to take their first steps to an open-source contribution!
Key Takeaways: Open source, vendor neutral instrumentation is an exciting new reality as the industry standardizes on openTelemetry for observability. OpenTelemetry is on a mission to enable effective observability by making high-quality, portable telemetry ubiquitous. The world of observability and monitoring today has a steep learning curve and in order to achieve ubiquity, the project would benefit from growing our contributor community.

Fluttercon 2024: Showing that you care about security - OpenSSF Scorecards fo...Chris Swan
Have you noticed the OpenSSF Scorecard badges on the official Dart and Flutter repos? It's Google's way of showing that they care about security. Practices such as pinning dependencies, branch protection, required reviews, continuous integration tests etc. are measured to provide a score and accompanying badge.
You can do the same for your projects, and this presentation will show you how, with an emphasis on the unique challenges that come up when working with Dart and Flutter.
The session will provide a walkthrough of the steps involved in securing a first repository, and then what it takes to repeat that process across an organization with multiple repos. It will also look at the ongoing maintenance involved once scorecards have been implemented, and how aspects of that maintenance can be better automated to minimize toil.
Quality Patents: Patents That Stand the Test of TimeAurora Consulting
Is your patent a vanity piece of paper for your office wall? Or is it a reliable, defendable, assertable, property right? The difference is often quality.
Is your patent simply a transactional cost and a large pile of legal bills for your startup? Or is it a leverageable asset worthy of attracting precious investment dollars, worth its cost in multiples of valuation? The difference is often quality.
Is your patent application only good enough to get through the examination process? Or has it been crafted to stand the tests of time and varied audiences if you later need to assert that document against an infringer, find yourself litigating with it in an Article 3 Court at the hands of a judge and jury, God forbid, end up having to defend its validity at the PTAB, or even needing to use it to block pirated imports at the International Trade Commission? The difference is often quality.
Quality will be our focus for a good chunk of the remainder of this season. What goes into a quality patent, and where possible, how do you get it without breaking the bank?
** Episode Overview **
In this first episode of our quality series, Kristen Hansen and the panel discuss:

5. What is a Search Engine?
Definition: An internet-based tool that searches an index of
documents for a particular term, phrase or text specified by the user. Commonly
used to refer to large web-based search engines that search through billions of
pages on the internet.
Locally Search
Global Search
Common Characteristics:
Spider, Indexer, Database, Algorithm
Find matching documents and display them according to
relevance ( Exact Keyword, Phase, broad)
Frequent updates to documents searched and ranking
algorithm ( According to Update)
6. How Do Search Engines Work?
Web crawling (Spider “crawls” the web to find New Documents (web pages, other
documents) typically by following hyperlinks from websites already in their
database)
Deep Crawling - Indexed – Body , Title , Alt, Hyperlinks , H1
Searching Crawler-Based, Human-Powered Directories, Hybrid Or Mixed
Results ( Manual submit + Google to Index)
8. Why is Search Engine Marketing important?
85% of all traffic on the internet is referred to by search engines
90% of all users don’t look past the first 30 results (most only view top
10)
Search engine traffic is low and websites aren’t indexed because they are
generally poorly optimized
Clear and measurable (ROI ) Return of Investment
Operates under this assumption:
More (relevant) traffic + Good Conversions Rate = More
Sales/Leads
9. What is SEO
Search engine optimization (SEO) is the process of
affecting the visibility of a website or a web page in a
search engine's "natural" or un-paid ("organic")
search results. In general, the earlier (or higher ranked on
the search results page), and more frequently a site
appears in the search results list, the more visitors it will
receive from the search engine's users. SEO may target
different kinds of search, including image search,
local search, video search, academic search,[EDU]
news search
and industry-specific vertical search engines.
10. Steps to developing a good SEO
strategy:
Research desirable keywords and search phrases
(WordTracker, Overture, Google AdWords)
Identify search phrases to target (should be relevant to business/market, obtainable
and profitable)
“Clean” and optimize a website’s HTML code for appropriate keyword density, title
tag optimization, internal linking structure, headings and subheadings, etc.
Help in writing copy to appeal to both search engines and actual website visitors
Study competitors (competing websites) and search engines
Implement a quality link building campaign
Add Quality content
Constant monitoring of rankings for targeted search terms
11. Multi-regional and Multilingual SEO

it across borders with the same language is another – but adding
multilingual into the mix adds yet another layer of complexity.
But there are ways of getting your head around it all world.

14. What is Image Role in SEO
Images play a very important role in search engines and is one of the factors which is
generally ignored by many webmasters. Search engines are trying to incorporate more
images into SERPs (Search Engine Page Results) and ignoring this could cause you loss
of good and sizable traffic. So lets look out all the major factors for implementing ‘SEO
for Images’.
Search engines can detect an image but not the content inside the images which
makes it difficult for them to sort out images based on user query.
With the evolution of Universal Search Results, images have been added to the main
page search results in Google resulting into more traffic.
You must have heard this quote ‘Images speak louder than words‘ so images can help
in presenting your content in a more user friendly manner which can help in building
your audience.
Images can also act as link bait if you allow image sharing in exchange of an link.
Easier sharing with sites like Pinterest getting more popular.

Today the undisputed leader in search engine usage is Google. Yahoo Claims to have the largest index of all search engines ranking over 5 Billion pages. MSN is the leading third, they have done a tremendous job at catching up to Google and yahoo but they still have a long time to catch up…. This a true example of the first mover advantage I don’t usually talk about Ask Jeeves but I have been seeing an increased level of traffic from Ask.com and according to recent statistics, Ask is now representative of approximately 7-8% of all searches. Every search engine has a different algorithm and ranking…. Our main focus today will be to look at the common and basic elements that every search engine company uses to rank and index pages.
According to Nielsen/Net rating
Anchor text is the visible hyperlinked text on the page. anchor text is usually used to indicate the subject matter of the page that it links to. For example, the text “7 th world congress ebusiness" indicates to visitors that they can expect to see content about conference pertaining to ebusiness if they visit the link. This pattern of usage has been applied in search engine algorithms to enhance the relevance of the "target" or the "landing page" URL for the keywords appearing within the anchor text.
