Street children
Street children
Street children
Street children is a term used for both children
who have no family and literally live on the
streets and for children who may have a parent,
but they make their money in the streets.
The term street children refers to children
for whom the street more than their family
has become their real home. It includes
children who might not necessarily be
homeless or without families, but who live in
situations where there is no protection,
supervision, or direction from responsible
adults. - Human Rights Watch
The epidemic of street children is
a global issue
• Global urbanization is
attributed to growing numbers
of homeless children
• Many children leave their
homes in smaller towns to work
in larger cities
• Estimations on how many
children are living on the street
is between 10 million and 100
million globally
• Street children move
frequently and are often
reluctant of adults so
information on the children is
limited
• Poverty, violence, lack of
family support, and hunger
are some of the main reasons
children choose to move to
the street
• Street children are typically
between the ages of 6 and 17
years old and live without
adult support
• Africa, Asia and Latin
America have the highest
number of street children
• Almost all countries have
children who are homeless
and living in the streets
•In the late 2015, private organization “Social and
Economic Enhancement Program” made a report
about measurable life of street children of
Bangladesh.
•On this report, I came to know, 75% street
children cannot go to doctor if they become sick for
poverty. 54% of them do not have anyone to look
after them. 40% do not take bath every day. 35%
grow up in insanitary environment and they do not
use latrine. 44% of them smoke and 41% of them
do not have bed to sleep at night. 85% of them take
drugs and become narcotized.
 Street children face difficulties in providing themselves with
good sources of food, clean drinking water, health care
services, and adequate shelter.
 They also suffer from absence of parental protection and
security.
 There is a lack of any kind of moral and emotional support .
 The average age at which street children start living on the
streets is between 9 and 12 years old.
 They keep living on the streets until they reach the age of 15
to 16. When they became older they start to look for stable
jobs with better wages.

Bleak future
 Public awareness to help street children
should be increased.
 Volunteers who work in these children
may be increased.
 Give them love and shelter.
 Share food.
 Giving them adequate education.
 If street children did not have parents,
we can put them in to an orphanage.
 Organizations that help these children
should be risen.
Street children
 UNICEF
 Southern cross humanitarian
 Children international network
 World vision
 The problem is very complicated and
day by day is becoming more
complicated
 Treat them as our own brother or
sister or children
 Government should take a portion of
our national budget for these victim
children and volunteer organization
should come forward.
Solution of This Problem
ADVICE
ere needs to be awareness of the public to not get used to
give some money to street children. Because this
condition is what makes street children comfortable to
live and make a living on the streets. If people want to
contribute or charity can be through shelters, charity or
nursing home up bringing.
Suggestions for People:
There needs to be awareness of the
public to not get used to give some
money to street children. Because this
condition is what makes street children
comfortable to live and make a living on
the streets. If people want to contribute
or charity can be through shelters,
