• At the advent of technology and its expansion every nation, every institute and every
system is being challenged to update
• Its process and objectives according to the vibe of the digital era.
• To prepare the 21st century learners with digital skill and smartness.
• It is important to adapt digital advancement where e-pedagogy becomes a promise and
challenge to Indian education system to reach the demands of the digital learning.
• digital learning refers to utilizing of
technology in online learning through online interaction, online discussion, seeking
expert help, group
chatting, online quizzes, reporting to feedback, webinars, self -regulating
activities etc (Jagannath.K.Dange & Tahseen Taj, 2019).
INTRODUCTION
• Pedagogy is defined as a conscious and purposeful act of transferring the
knowledge.(Wassila 2014).
• Pedagogy has got a vital role in defining the education strategies and targets
according to the dynamic demands of the digital world.
• To satisfy the learning aspiration of 21st century learners the present pedagogy is
to be upgraded with digital platforms which points to an inevitable adaptation
of e-pedagogy.
ADAPTATION
OF E-PEDAGOGY FOR INDIAN EDUCATION
SYSTEM
• Learningoutcomes and the quality of education can be improved by adapting e-pedagogy.
• It can ensure the equity and equality in the access and use of educational material by
the learners.
• Indian public education system struggles to minimise cost and maximise, but e-pedagogy
can stimulate the educational initiatives with less cost to a huge number of beneficiaries.
• Education should remain relevant to the vibe of social changes; otherwise outcome would
remain unfit for the economical demands, (OECD, 2016).
• Educational advancement should move fast with the rhythm of global development, if not it
will cause the backwardness of the nation.
FOLLOWING REASONS POINT TO THE INEVITABLE NEED OF ADOPTING E-PEDAGOGY IN INDIAN
EDUCATION SYSTEM
• E-pedagogy is an online teaching approach that involves students and instructors
coming together to interact
through chats and forums which focus on the principle of learning .
• Teachers and learners are exposed to a world of digital teaching-learning
exploration where e-pedagogy lends a digital hand to
overcome the limitations of traditional classrooms.
• The teaching-learning platforms, facilitated by e-pedagogy, really become a
promise to the education system acquire the digital skills and intellectual
smartness for the 21st
century.
E-PEDAGOGY:
A PROMISE TO INDIAN EDUCATION SYSTEM
• Teaching exploration is made possible byextending the classroom concepts through virtual
classroom, OER, blended learning, online tutoring, social media interaction, online
assignment system and its follow up, and massive open online courses, (Michael A. Pizzi,
2014).
THE COMPLIMENTARY ASPECTS OF E-PEDAGOGY TO
TRADITIONAL CLASSROOM PEDAGOGY
OER (different digital content source and online teaching by specialists and experts)
Shared learning, peer learning, open to any kind of learning exploration with guidance, support
and feedback from subject and content experts
Cloud computing (online exam and assessment with a wide options)
• Education has an unimaginable role in preparing this healthy and skilled
generation for the 21st century.
• But our society and education system are not in a position to cope with the
advancement and even to face the digital challenge due many pressing problems
like inequality, unskilled persons, etc.(Rita Mary, 2012).
• At the advent of technology, digitalised education systems only have proved
itshuge potential to transform the education system with new horizons.
DIGITAL LEARNING FOR INDIAN EDUCATION SYSTEM
• 1.Curriculum: Purpose and goals of curriculum, outcomes, content framework,
units plan, verification of learning, delivery methodologies, resource and
reference, programme evaluation and modification,
(Rita Mary, 2012).
• 2. Teachers: The pilots of education system are mentors, and it is depend upon
Teacher competence in the integration of ICT into instruction and learning and
noted that while it is rare for technology by itself to act as a catalyst for school
change, technology can be a potent lever for planned change implementation.
SOME OF THE FACTORS OF EDUCATION SYSTEM WHICH ARE TO BE RESTRUCTURED FOR THE
MEANINGFUL ADAPTATION OF E-PEDAGOGY
QUALITIES OF TECH SAVVY TEACHERS FOR E-PEDAGOGY
• 3. Administrative system: To reach the real objectives of the adaptation
of e-pedagogy in the schools, the entire education system at administrative
level is to be transformed into a technically advanced.
• 4. Teacher Training Programmes: Teacher training programme and in-service
training programme are to be reschedules according to the need of the time to
utilise the all the e-pedagogical platforms for better learning outcome.
• 5. Infrastructure: For the e-pedagogy execution needed Hardware, software,
Digital classrooms facilities, digital classroom facilities, etc are
to be facilitated or updated.
CONTINIUED
• 1) Without adapting E-pedagogy Indian education system cannot prepare a digital generation for 21st
century, So, E-pedagogy is an inevitable reality for quality education and generating skilled learners.
• 2) Since e-pedagogy is a potential promise to Indian education, the entire education system is to
be restructured to accommodate the E-pedagogical possibilities
• 3) An assessment committee for evaluating and reporting the present technological status quo of
the school should be formed
• 4) On the basis of committee report, policies with regard to basic infrastructure and training should be
formulated and executed.
• 5) Teacher training programme should be enhanced to produce tech savvy teachers of the 21st century
• 6) Adequate budget for advancement of public schools should be allotted to accommodate E-pedagogy
SUGGESTIONS:
•
Education has got an indispensable space in the development of India. The
proposed dream of digital India can be actualised with 100% perfection by the
formation of digital generation. Digital generation can be formed only through a
digital education where e-pedagogy remains ever promising. The promising
possibilities of e-pedagogy stipulate the advancement of the entire education
system which involves transformation of personnel, infrastructure, software and
curriculum in tune with digital waves.
