Mavs YouTube RoundUp: Game 5 Road Win Edition

That was fun, let’s do that again.

NBA: Playoffs-Dallas Mavericks at Los Angeles Clippers Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

The RoundUp resurfaces to bring you reactions from Game 5 in LA from around the tube. Dallas steamrolls the Clippers setting up a potential Game 6 closeout. It is also possible Dallas fumbles that chance leading to a winner-take-all all back in California.

We begin with Pod Maverick as Kirk, Josh and later a nice selection of Maverick fans celebrate and reflect on what we just witnessed.

Nick is spot on about the “Dallas to Cancun” billboard. It was not a good idea to stir the hornet nest before what may have been the last Clipper game in that arena...ever.

That grin in the thumbnail says it all. Here are post-game quotes courtesy of WFAA.

A 30-point win deserves some small celebration. Now it's time to make the confetti fall after Game 6.

With all the talk about that sprained knee, I think too many analysts underestimated how much 2 full days of rest would do for both the knee and whatever bug his immune system has been battling for a week. This was the first time in the series Luka felt dominant all game long on offense and it came at the perfect time.

In case you missed the game, here are the highlights from the great Panda Hank.

The RoundUp has mixed emotions about including this video. The TNT guys praise the Clippers when they win and blast the Mavericks when they lose. On nights where the reverse should happen, they barely muster enough faint praise to mumble through the moments where Dallas should be highlighted for playing a great game. Kenny Smith is the worst at this as shown in this video. He cannot acknowledge the dominance from Dallas and writes it off as LA “having a bad game”. It truly makes you wonder how pretzel-shaped his logic will have to take to explain the series of Dallas closes it out in Game 6.

The copium overdose is already in progress.

Was this the play of the year? I can think of a few others that surpass it but there is no doubt it was a thing of beauty in real time and even more so in slow motion.
