The Seattle Seahawks are just about finished with getting their 2024 draft class under contract.

On Friday, the team announced that third-round pick Christian Haynes has agreed to terms on his rookie contract. Since he wasn’t taken in the first round, he’s not eligible for a fifth-year option.

One of the most pressing needs for the Seattle Seahawks entering last month’s NFL Draft was the guard position. Left guard Damien Lewis inked a free agent deal with the Carolina Panthers, while right guard Phil Haynes remains an unsigned free agent. Haynes was taken with the No. 81 overall pick, the Seahawks’ second selection. While he played exclusively at right guard at Connecticut, he did get some left guard looks at rookie minicamp.

Sixth-round offensive lineman Michael Jerrell, Seattle’s final pick in this year’s draft, is the only unsigned rookie. These things are a formality, so it’s only a matter of time before he’s under contract and we can move onto more pressing matters this offseason.
